CNN's Dana Bash: Many in GOP wish Rumsfeld would "keep his mouth shut"

On the "Situation Room," John King (Wolf must be on vacay) covered the Rumsfeld speech. They apparently had had quite a number of e-mails from Democrats. Then Dana Bash said that many Republicans expressed the view privately that Rummy was not their best spokesman re. the Iraq war, he was a Democrats' bogeyman, and they wished he would "keep his mouth shut." Some, in fact, said they wished he would resign.

So it could be that many on the other side have the same view as our side: we've got a senile, raving lunatic in charge of the Pentagon.

ON EDIT: Torie Clark and Paul Begala discussed. Torie loved the speech. Begala said Rumsfeld looked like "a batty old man," and the speech was "bizarre." He said the truth was, talking terrorism, that it was Bush who "didn't have the will" to get Osama at Tora Bora. On the question of opponents of the war being appeasers, John King put up the poll numbers, with only 35% of Americans approving the war.
