I'd like to say that my generation is the one that defeated U.S. Fascism
Edited on Wed Aug-30-06 04:29 AM by Philosoraptor
The WWII generation recently acquired the label "the greatest generation", mainly because of their defeat of fascism in the last century, they are the ones who defeated Hitler and the Nazis, and we acknowledge their sacrifices deeply.

Now all these years later, fascism is back, and lo and behold, its right in our goddamned white house, disguised as the president and his cabinet.

How could this ever have happened? Hell, I don't know, but it did, and its fascist ass kicking time again, and now we are the generation threatened by it.

Will we defeat it this time, or will it defeat us?

1. My uncle was ready to board a ship to take him to the Abraham Lincoln
Brigade in Spain to fight the fascists over there, but my grandfather yanked him off the gangplank. My uncle spent his time overe here by supporting progressive causes, but was wary of being punished for his associations during the McCarthy Era.

2. Instead of jailing our Fifth Columnists, we put them in charge of Intel

and the GOP.

Most of us here have learned that Dubya's Grandfather and Great Uncle were Hitler's American bankers, managing the Union Trust Bank in NY, which was a primary conduit for dollars that flowed to the Nazi regime. But, not many know that Eisenhower's Secretary of State and Director of CIA had been Hitler's American lawyers. That's right, the Dulles brothers headed the Wall Street firm Sullivan & Cromwell, that represented the biggest German commercial interests between the Wars, even after Germany went to war with England and had conquered most of Europe.

The Dulles Brothers also represented Standard Oil that continued supplying Nazi Germany with petroleum for almost a year after war was declared, until FDR threatened the Rockefellers with nationalization and prosecution for violation of the Trading With The Enemy Act.

Instead of rounding up American Fifth Columnists, as did the British, wealthy Americans with long and well-known fascist sympathies were placed in positions within OSS and military intelligence. They facilitated the escape of Nazis when the war ended, and continued to recruit Nazis into western intelligence networks.

That's how the Bushes got to where they did. By the way, the elder Dulles brother was the Chairman of the Republican National Committee during the 1930s and early 1940s. G.H.W. Bush was also awarded the post of Chairman of the RNC and head of U.S. Intel, for no readily apparent reason.
