About the bin Laden tape
Isn't is odd how quickly the CIA confirmed it was a bin Laden tape even though the sound quality is terrible? Even with better tapes, it usually takes them a few days.

1. I know that hte working theory is that there is no OBL and this came
straight from Karl Rove. But another explanation is that they had acquired the tape in advance of whoever released it.

3. It does seem fishy, but I just heard on the news that the tape
mentions Bush's lousy poll numbers. King George wouldn't trash himself, even as a diversion to the NSA story.

11. They would if it could work in their favor
Notice how all the "talk show hosts on the media" are saying how he's saying things like the democrats. Remember Matthews compared him to BinLadin.

6. Thanks for posting ...
... very interesting article. Al Jazeera is trying hard to become a legitimate news source and at this point it's certainly no worse than Fox, at least in its coverage of the Iraq war.

8. That's not Al Jazeera
It's just a site that's ripped the name which publishes some very anti-semitic articles.

This is the correct site:

9. Thanks for pointing that out

I wasn't aware that an alternate site hijacked the name, but you're right about that. Good to know.

12. This is the question to ask
It is obvious that the usefulness of such tapes cannot be questioned, but how can people be sure of their origin and authenticity?

7. Last tape - right before the election. Campaign managers comment

See tape as boost for Prez
We want people to think 'terrorism' for the last four days," said a Bush-Cheney campaign official. "And anything that raises the issue in people's minds is good for us."
A senior GOP strategist added, "anything that makes people nervous about their personal safety helps Bush."
He called it "a little gift," saying it helps the President but doesn't guarantee his reelection.

10. It is unusual
And how he said "God" instead of "Allah." (Even though they are the same being they always say "Allah")
