WaPo trying to float story that Armitage was Plame leaker
But the facts don't add up. Wilson says Novak told him two stories - first that it was the CIA, then that it was a WH source. In addition, Wilson's friend, who Novak told that Plame was a CIA agent before he wrote the article, was walking with him from the White House towards the State Department that day.

Fitzgerald has investigated both Armitage and Rove, and he's never bothered to charge Armitage. Rove, however, has been questioned many, many, many times.

1. As I keep saying, if Armitage didn't know Plame was covert, how did Bob?
That doesn't make the slightest bit of sense to me.

2. All Roads Lead To Cheney,...
---- Plame's outing did not happen by accident,.. and as Cheney is the biggest PNAC fish in the junta, it stands to reason that he was behind the leak. He's like that.

3. Kristoff article was in May 2003
And I think Judith Miller's notes show she talked to Libby at least in June, maybe earlier. So I don't see how Armitage can be the original leaker. He may have leaked to Novak, but doesn't seem to be the original source.

4. CNN just said the same thing....
On the Situation Room..

They also said Armitage did not return CNN's calls.. and reminded viewers that "Fitzpatrick never charged Armitage with anything"

7. Remember they got Powell to stand up there and barf propaganda.
At times of war... I'm sure many under the influence of the WH at that point could have seen it as legit propaganda. Remember even the WH believed their own crap... and thought WMD would be found in Iraq.

Why it is better to keep people who boil a crap and call it soup on the used car lots... where they belong. And not let them into government.

.... "Just because Armitage did this on his own, earlier, doesn't mean that there wasn't a White House conspiracy to 'out' Valerie (Plame) Wilson. We don't think it affects the case," said Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, the group pressing the lawsuit.
