"Stop doing anything I don’t like"
One of the dumbest Luddite Freeper LTTE's I've ever read. It appeared today in the Daily Herald, in the Repuke suburbs of Chicago. This one had me rolling on the floor.

Why should we pay for unsought advice?

I am tired of government offices, do-good academia, social elitists, researchers and scientists on taxpayer grants, and zealots for any causes, telling me what is best for me and then complaining they need me to supply more money to them so they can carry on their efforts to find more ways to tell me what is best for me according to their philosophies.

I am issuing this decree to all people receiving money (wages, grants, contracts, etc.) directly or indirectly from taxes (income, interest, sales, real estate etc.): Stop doing anything I don’t like and didn’t ask you to do.

I haven’t asked anybody to pay me for doing anything they didn’t ask me to do. So stop doing and charging me for doing something I didn’t ask you to do. I am a taxpaying U.S. citizen, and you have no right to tell me what you think when I haven’t commissioned your opinion.

If you want to help me and your fellow citizens, volunteer. If you want to do non-profit work but can’t afford to volunteer, create a plan and sell it to private investors. If I’m interested, I probably will also invest, but it will be my choice not your demand.

Bob Druktanis

1. Great, let's start with those "faith-based initiatives" Bob ...
talk about being in your face, telling you what to do, on my dime.

3. Lindenhurst? So its an idiot FReeper, not a rich Republican
figures.

Didn't think that city was too right wing.

But the right wingers there are the worst kind, the one that worship the rich.

5. oh my
I think I met and know this guy, and yes, he is as weird as his letter. His supersized SUV has W stickers on it, by the way.
We discussed Iraq, and he is convinced that there is a plot to hide them from the media so they could embarrass bush.

Yeah, he's pissed off at those scientists getting grant money...until he develops some disease...and then he'll want there to be a cure. Where do you think those cures come from, Bob?

7. By his logic, I could force the government to
stop subsidizing industrial agriculture, end the war on drugs, and cut off all aid to Middle Eastern countries including Israel.

8. Sure Bob, just as soon as the government stops spending my
money on war, propaganda, the Pentagon, and propping up dictators around the world. I'd also like to see them stop corporate welfare and to start having corporations pay taxes to re-build the US infrastructure that is crumbling around us. And how dare a local or state government spend my tax dollars 'enticing' development by giving them tax breaks? Let them pay for their own sewers and streets.
