Bush Admits He "Turned His Back" On Katrina Victims
NEW ORLEANS, United States (AFP) - US President George W. Bush was to mark one year since Hurricane Katrina with a solemn prayer service, but got the anniversary started with a plateful of pancakes.

Bush's motorcade snaked down Canal Street in downtown New Orleans, past still-boarded-up storefronts and shattered windows, to the humble Betsy's Pancake House, where he had breakfast with Mayor Ray Nagin.

But local frustration was also on the menu as a waitress took Bush to task over the botched government response to the killer storm, which ravaged the US Gulf Coast and killed more than 1,500 people and nearly drowned this party city.

As Bush tried to squeeze his way through narrow spaces between tables, waitress Joyce Labruzzo asked him: "Mister President, are you going to turn your back on me?"

"No, ma'am," Bush said, with a laugh and a pause. "Not again."

2. Good For Her
but do you think she'll wind up on a no-fly list
(as if jetting about is something she'd do anyway with everything else she has to worry about)

Anyway, she should know, Dubya will turn his back on her again and again, 'cos that's what Conservatives do. Stop whining and waiting for the government to bail you out. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps. Three cheers for rugged individualism

Finally. It shows he recognizes he erred.

This should be Front Page Story One in every newspaper in America.

Is he forgiven? Hell no.
