5. The closest Ernesto is going to get to the Gulf of Mexico
is crawling up the coast of Western Florida.

And fortunately (although not for Haiti & Cuba) this one is petering out. Worst that will happen is alot of rain

3. I'm just looking at real time radar and it's already west of Miami.
It's looking to me like it will hit the west side of Florida rather than the east.

8. If it follows those western most tracks it could be over water ...
for another 24 hours. That's plenty of time for it to get rev'ed up before it hits Tampa.

9. Usually, if the whole system is over open water
they develope more.

If part of the system is over land, they don't develope well.

I certainly hope that is the case.
