So...John Mark Karr ..Biz class to the US. 1st class back to Thailand?
I had my doubts from the get go about his guilt, to be honest and now he goes back to LA to face misdemeanor charges of child porn. My bet? He'll get off and demand they take him back to where they found him.

This time in a bigger seat with no one watching him pee.

6. No problem for me at all!! Quite frankly, i think he deserves it.
He might be creepy and a bit nutty, but he never should have been flown all the way from Bangkok to Boulder Colorado to find out what everyone with an ounce of sense already knew.

in most countries outside the U.S. after this episode, because of his well-publicized background with the child pornography charges.

7. Taxpayers paid for business class!
How come this potential criminal (or probable criminal, at that point) got to ride in business class on the taxpayer's dime? Why the heck wasn't he back in economy class with the rest of the scum? Heck... if he is a pedophile, I'd have put him in the luggage compartment.

10. Because it's harder to control a prisoner
in cattle class. With that kind of all across the plane seating and a jammed full plane it's not easy for the marshalls to really keep him under wraps. It kind of pisses me off that he got to enjoy an upgrade on taxpayers money but I can't really blame the marshalls for it.

13. Why are economy class passengers "scum"?
Please explain that one to us.

As a regular e-class, trans-Pacific passenger, I'd rather have the cops and government play their games up forward. Where they got a little more room. People in "sardine class" tend to get a little more testy over authoritarian bullshit.

22. The only trans-oceanic flight I took
I was in economy class with the rest of the sardines. So, yeah, I guess I qualified as "scum". As opposed to the people who have enough points (or can afford) to get an upgrade.

18. Easier security in business class.
If you are flying with a suspect, you want to make sure that you can keep an eye on him not have to stand in the never-ending pee line for the single head in the back of that flying cattle car.

11. That would be a tragic stupidity
Because he would go back there to violate children, most likely, or whatever people like him do when they go to Thailand. This was such a fuck-up by the police it is almost hard to comprehend. The only good thing that came about from this is getting a probable pedophile off the streets, but if they let him go, all the gains are lost. As an amateur profiler, I believe this man desperately wanted to be caught and gotten off the streets.

The authorities need to finally do one thing right and get this man off the streets, get him away from exploitable human beings, get him help.

What a fucking fiasco.

It is my belief that he is mentally ill. Whether he goes to Thailand or not, good luck.

Time to move on with my life.

17. Business class
There was a lot of theorizing about this when it happened, that the cops travelling with him were using the time...and the comfy treatment, with wine, clinking glasses as if he were a cool guy, etc. to try to get details out of him. They hadn't charged him yet, and I'd heard that if he had more incriminating things to say while in the air -- technically, while in the air, he was still in Thailand. It would all be admissable. So they could have been taking the time not just to ask him about the Jon Benet case (where he seemed pretty obviously to be a wannabe) but to ask him if he'd done anything similar with other kids in Colorado or in other states, all while buttering him up and telling him how clever he was to have fooled them all those years, etc. The ultimate "good cop" routine -- and an almost unique situation (not arrested yet, in international air). At least, I hope this is what was going on. But in any case, the price of a business class ticket is nothing compared to what's been spent on this case so far.
