Bush sees renewal after Katrina

By JENNIFER LOVEN, Associated Press Writer 3 minutes ago

BILOXI, Miss. -
President Bush returned Monday to the first scene he saw a year ago of Hurricane Katrina's devastation, and declared "a sense of renewal" in the region still struggling to come back from the storm's battering.

"Amazing what the world looked like then and what it looks like now," Bush said, marveling at the air conditioning and electrical service in the newly constructed home visible behind him. "People can't imagine what the world looked like then."

1. It's like he doesn't know that the Gulf Coast is in the in the USA.
Edited on Mon Aug-28-06 03:06 PM by CottonBear
Last year, he called the Gulf Coast "this part of the world" and this year he's saying "what the world looked like then."
Why can't he call it the Gulf Coast of the USA? What goes on in his head that he can spew out crap like this? :( No one else says crap like this. It's just weird.

5. He doesn't Know WHERE he is anymore when he speaks.
That seems pretty obvious.

Like a comic who's lost track of which town on the tour he's in on any given night; rather than give his ignorance away, he uses broader terms. Pathetic and scary. WHY doesn't this man have any sense of WHERE he is???

How much more mental capacity does he have to lose before SOMEbody DOES Something?

2. You can only "not imagine" if you've never seen the television reports
Good god, does this guy even realize just how much "we the people" really know?

If we knew a bit more his ass would be in prison.

9. I can't wait til tomorrow
The last thing he wants to do is show up in Nawlins. Because the place is still a disaster outside the Quarter and a few other neighborhoods. And I am pretty sure that the news is going to remind viewers of that. And his promises to come to the rescue, which have not been kept.

PBS is having two consecutive shows tomorrow, Nova and Frontline, on the subject. Should be great viewing.

10. Using Katrina as the new wedge issue
Republican white Mississippi - good; Democratic black corrupt Louisiana - bad. That is how low they will go.
