Just watching MSNBC. Plane diverted to Bristol, TN.
Edited on Mon Aug-28-06 01:14 PM by spanone
Maybe they are just late for the NASCAR race???

The plane was enroute, I think, from Philly (?) to Houston.

Watch folks, everyday until the election there will be nothing but terror, terror, terror, terror, and did I mention terror??

No links, just reported.

edit for link. http://www.tricities.com/tristate/tri/home.html

1. You can tell it's election season.... How pathetic.
And people like us are Tin Foil Hatters for pointing out the FACT, that the last time we were bombarded with terror threats was in 2004, oddly enough, an election season...

4. Don't forget to be wet-your-pants scared, America!
If you're not terrified, the terrorists will win.

5. Rove, et al, have lost it. All they'll get out of this is . . .
Terror fatigue, which will turn into terror alienation, which will turn into terror apathy.

They're killing the goose that lays the golden tabulator totals.

Go Karl, Go!

13. Agreed!
Think of every person on a flight, meeting an incoming passenger, etc., that is going to be incovenienced as a result of this crap -- and you can count their votes for a Democrat in November.

They've over-played their hand -- and they're too stupid for it to have sunk in yet.

7. I wonder how many planes are diverted in nonelection years
Im sure it happens a lot, but its not politically useful to report at that time.

9. It would be ironic if someone on the plane was really traveling to Bristol
but had to go through houston first, as there were no direct flights...

29. Yeah- most convienant for them.
And no- I'm more of a "there is a glass, liquid is in the glass. I will probably spill the liquid on myself, Thus, I will not move the glass" type of person. :-)

11. I'm not SCARED enough to vote Republican
C'mon people, we can make all this fear-mongering backfire on the Republicans.

Only cowards vote for Republicans.

Say it with a bumpersticker:

27. No, it says Republicans are WEAK
Republicans think America is too WEAK to defeat terrorists without giving up freedom.

But mostly it goes to dissuading their base from voting Republican. This is a frontal assault on the 'macho' insecure male that votes Republican because they don't want to be associated with the party they see as associated with 'queers'.

This is how you play politics in the modern world. You go after their base. You attack them where they are strongest: among joe sixpack types that are uninformed but will vote Republican for the same reason they buy a big pickup truck: it makes them FEEL a little less like a vulnerable little wimp.

It is all about projection with them.

12. That's strange ...
Edited on Mon Aug-28-06 01:03 PM by AirmensMom
they didn't break into any of the local programming to mention it. Usually, they'll interrupt programming if it's going to rain.

Edit: Forgot to say ... all this fear mongering should backfire sooner or later. I mean, either we're safer under bush* or not. If we ARE safer, why are there so many new "threats"? Maybe someone could point this out to the repugs?

25. Sounds like a rookie "event" planner at the helm
on this one. Else the plane would have been diverted to a place where more media could descend into than little ol' Bristol, TN.
