Ok, I don't have to work today, it's raining, lots of housework is done, and I'm sort of bored. And being a fantasy sports player, I decided to transfer my skills(?) to a fantasy progressive radio lineup, if I ran a radio network and had lots of money. I am only including people I have heard, and am trying to set it up like a regular radio station may do it. Ok, here we go. all times are Central Time, btw as this is where I live. 6AM-10AM-Stephanie Miller and crew. Morning drive and she's perfect for that slot as she's bright and witty. 10AM-2PM-Ed Schultz. Yeah, I know a lot of people here don't like him, but put him against limbaugh and O'Reilly and Big Ed may smoke them in ratings. Besides, I like him most of the time. He does allow people to have their say, no matter how ridiculous. 2PM-6PM-Randi Rhodes. Afternoon drive and she's pretty good for that slot. She's more or less there now anyway. 6PM-9PM-Thom Hartmann. A little slow down from the PM drive time and some very intelligent conversation. 9PM-1AM-Sam Seder. An emerging star in talk radio imo. The man has done well without Garafalo and loves to take ridiculous people's calls and then correct them. 1AM-5AM-Mike Malloy. Face it folks, he'll likely never see any prime time slot and he's actually pretty good for late night radio, as there are night shifters out there who like radio, but not neccessarily that weird show thats out on syndication, Art Bell or something like that. Weekend subs should include Rachel Maddow, Mark Riley, and maybe Franken, although he isn't exactly a radio type of guy and it shows. So there you have it, a fantasy radio lineup. Good grief, I think I have to get a new hobby. :-)
