Democrats are not trying to pass laws to control my body and dictate what I can and cannot do. Most of them are not supporting a war in Iraq which is killing our children, many from lower income families where joining the military is an option to help build their career and education.

They have no problem sending our children to Iraq into a war that has no possible happy ending right now. When someone (or a party) makes one of their crowning points of appeal their supposed moral clarity and adherence to family values and American ideals, while attacking the personal lives of their opponents - it is absolutely fair game to point out the contradictions in their private lives - like all the racism, divorce, child molestation, affairs and sexual harassment these supposed paragons of virtue are involved in. This includes their inability to raise well adjusted children in those cases as well.

     As all of us concerned about living in a benign and happy
world should be "Associated Students", as to help
the situation improve.
     You're not really supposed to laugh at all of the
shenanigans that the powerful and their relatives engage in,
even though you may once in a while.
     All this stuff means something to somebody, but the
sentient people are probably best reminded to remember it's
all serious, and certainly now, a dangerous situation that
requires our focus.
     There seems to be an increase in consciousness of Jews in
society, what with the Mel Gibson flak and all.  We need to
approach this problem with the same consistency we should as
we do to the rest of the issues we face.
     Once again, it seems it's the extremes that we need to
watch out for and avoid.  The power structure, from top to
bottom, seeks to either ignore Jewish power, or go to some
Anti-Semitic opposite that is bad and dangerous.  It's very
suspicious and perhaps telling that the conservatives will
have this love/hate relationship with Jewish people.  They
support Israel almost completely, yet in these underlying
ways, are prepared to demonstrate their ability to turn
against just about anyone they see fit to.
     I think Jews should be treated like any other ethnic
group, with fairness, but without special privilege.  One
extreme is the slurring of ethnicities, which can lead to
social upheaval.  And the other is ignorance of ethnic social
power, which can allow a group to amass power by being
shielded from scrutiny.  Norman Finkelstein has done some good
work on this topic.
