1. Amen to that!!
What a brave leader to speak thus in Oklahoma!

I love this: "And war -- war is the greatest failure of the human race -- and thus the greatest failure of faith."

War IS Social Abortion.

Jesus IS still here and WE are still killing him.

No Blood for OIL!

5. AMEN , Its about time
Thanks Pastor for speaking out. I'm amazed at the hatred
coming out of the christian church and the lack of wisdom
concerning the mission that Christ set before us all?? LOVE
YOUR BROTHER !! Not just when it's convenient.
    Thanks, Branson,Mo

Welcome to DU! What's it like being a Liberal in Branson, Missouri? Will you get to vote for Claire McCaskill?

Enjoy the DU! I'll say hello if I see you around.

7. voting in Missouri !!
Voting around here is a little scary. I don't dare put a campaign sticker on my vehicle or risk getting keyed or finding a burning cross in my yard. I will be voting for Claire or anyone, not of the republican persuasion. We are starting to pick up on demo voter registation and there are some signs around "HAD ENOUGH" B-LIB

2. Bush is no Christian
That much should be plainly obvious by now. But yet, so called Christians out there are the ones who are most blind to that fact. "The blind leading the blind", as Jesus said.

9. Bush likely a true Christian.
Play it safe and assume that he is. You won't go wrong.

3. Dr. Meyers gives a good rant, but he is also a hypocrite.
By claiming to be a "real" christian while insisting conservatives aren't, he's just as guilty as they are when they do the same thing to liberal christians.

I'm tired of people thinking that because I'm a Christian, I must be a supporter of President Bush, or that because I favor civil rights and gay rights I must not be a person of faith. I'm tired of people saying that I can't support the troops but oppose the war.

Exactly who says all christians support Bush? I've never heard anyone say this and I live in the bible belt.

I heard that when I was your age--when the Vietnam war was raging. We knew that war was wrong, and you know that this war is wrong--the only question is how many people are going to die before these make-believe Christians are removed from power?

"Make-believe" christians? Ever heard of the No True Scotsman fallacy, Dr. Meyers?

Don't be afraid to speak out. Don't back down when your friends begin to tell you that the cause is righteous and that the flag should be wrapped around the cross, while the rest of us keep our mouths shut. Real Christians take chances for peace. So do real Jews, and real Muslims, and real Hindus, and real Buddhists--so do all the faith traditions of the world at their heart believe one thing: life is precious.

So now the good Doctor thinks he can decide who are "true" jews, muslims, hindus and buddhists?

He used so many fallacies to make his point that I completely missed it.
