Ok, say you live in Fl. and your choices for senate are
a) katherine harris (yeah right)
b) bill nelson (a corporate mucky-muck who in my opinion might as well be a republican)

do you pick the lesser of the evils or go out on a limb with an independent who has the very qualitities you want in a senator representing you. Tough dilema... I certainly don't favor Nelson. But I don't want that crack head harris to even slightly edge through with a 3 way split.

1. Write in candidate: FLIPPER
Better than either of the other choices, and we know Flipper would be environmentally concerned, as well. Plus, he would be more fun to watch than Harris' boobs.

2. I don't agree with your assesment on Bill Nelson.
He is a true moderate. He is no corporate "lacky". Seeing that it's Florida, he will do just fine. He is going to win by a landslide, unless The Wicked Witch of the South finds a way to steal it, which she may do so.

23. I hate to disagree with you
EVERY single issue I have EVER called this freak on he has voted the wrong way. HE SUCKS and is only moderately better than Joe Lieberman - mostly because I don't think Bill and the freak in chief have ever kissed.

I can't even begin to tell you how he has been a champion with seniors working with them on a daily basis over the Medicare fiasco.

3. How did voting for Nader in 2000 work out?
That's what I would ask myself before pulling the lever.

5. I agree. The bitter lesson of Ralph Nader in 2000...
... is that liberals should vote for Democrats in the general election even if we don't like them.

Primary elections are for voting for whom you really want. General elections are for choosing between the Democrat and the Republican.

7. Exactly! Even more so, get involved BEFORE the primary!
Make sure that you support the candidate you want BEFORE the primary and help that person win. Then you will have worked to see that you have someone good to vote for.

9. Why? Why support someone who voted for the war, has voted
with repugs almost 60% of the time. How much of a democrat do you think he is? And yes, he is a corporate lacky... Follow the money, and you see who his supporters are. I don't like making excuses for bad democrats. When we know they are there, why do we stand idley by? Don't they work for us? I'm sorry but I am not a Nelson fan. I have sent so many e-mails, letters etc. telling him just where to go. I always say.. hey, I'm a democrat and your out of line on this. Why did you support this or that? I have not even received a "thanks for blah, blah" penned of version or junk e-mail reply back. I am tired of making excuses for shitty democratic candidates.

19. A vote for Nelson is a vote for a Democratic majority and all the power
that comes with it (Dems get to head committees and get more seats on them, etc)

27. People in 2000 could say that Al Gore is for NAFTA,
Al Gore is for raising H1B Technology visas, so why vote for him?

In retrospect, we know that Bush is a lot worse than Gore. If Katherine Harris wins, you'll probably find that she's a worse Senator than Bill Nelson.

8. Cruella hasn't won the primary yet
...almost half of repukes are still undecided.

but, given your assumed scenerio, I hold my nose and vote for Nelson if the polls show anywhere less than a 15% edge for Nelson. If greater, then I vote for Brian Moore (Progressive, whom I've read a little about). If he can garner a few percentage of the vote that may give Nelson something to think about.

I get it that their needs to be democrats this year...but I hate having to choose between the lesser of 2 evils. I want a real person... not fake smile in a flashy suit.

15. But so many times they have sat by and let the repugs do harm
hell they even voted with them half the time. Are we guaranteed an Impeachment? Are we. I don't hear anyone speaking up and saying listen... this is a war crime, this is violation of the constitution. Bush has been found by diff. courts to be in violation of the law. He's a criminal... yet, he's still there. Why hasn't he been dragged away in handcuffs? Cheney? Gonzalez? Rice? Violating the people at every turn. Where is there passion? Where are their alliances?

18. Hold yer nose, and vote for Nelson.
....and close your eyes and think of Ted Kennedy as the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and Pat Leahy heading up Intelligence (I think he'd be the senior Dem, wouldn't he?)

Of course it's easy for me to say that. I'm in New Jersey and Bob Menendez is pretty decent on most issues. My Congressman is the most excellent Rush Holt so there's no pain voting for him either.

I've voted for more than my share of third party candidates (Grandpa Al Lewis for Governor! Barry Commonor for President) but someone's got to do something to stop these right wing lunatics before they drive us over a cliff. Sadly, the Democrats are the only party capable of doing that so, lame as they sometimes are. I find myself increasingly being a loyal Democrat.

20. Vote for Nelson
Just hold your nose and vote for Nelson. I'm up here in North Florida (Bush country) and Bill Nelson is very popular among the rural Democrats because he is seen as a moderate. If you had someone more to the left running as a Democrat people would give the (R) more consideration (Anybody except her, I can't beleive they might actually nominate Harris). At this point in time you aren't going to get a true liberal/progressive out of states like FL, NE, LA, WV, etc. I'm personally just thrilled that someone with a (D) beside their name has been able to hold a seat in those states over the last 10 years, regardless of what kind of Democrat they are. Think about the big picture at this point in time.

I think on Head On with Bob Kincaid. I was VERY impressed and I'm voting for him. Nelson is useless and doesn't represent me and I'm not voting for him....but I think he'll win anyway even with some of us voting for Brian Moore

25. Well here is the problem
I didn't vote for Nader....and I also didn't vote in a state in 2000 that I had absolutely NO FUCKING CONFIDENCE in how my vote would be counted. But since I now live in a state that I have no FUCKING CONFIDENCE IN HOW MY VOTE will be counted and I HATE BILL NELSON - I will VOTE for whom I decide. I'll vote and they'll count....

And besides the repunks hate Katherine Harris and if they fix anything they'll fix it for Nelson to win because he is a dependable vote for them.....
