I just realized something about Republicans and Kennedys...
Did you realize that Republicans don't care at all when a Kennedy gets killed, but they can't shut up when a Kennedy is the killer?

1. Republicans are obsessed with the Kennedy's any time they are in the news
If it is a negative news story.

The Kennedy's are the battle cry for the republican party. Now with so few of them left to serve, the Clinton's have become the new target.

2. and I think that is because (rightly or wrongly) they are perceived by
the people as crusaders FOR the people.

Its that IMAGE that must be squashed by the republicans, because they never want the sheep to wake up and actually ask them "What are you doing for ME?"

Republicans exist on the premise that voters exist to serve the aristocratic republicans.

Now, Kennedys are of course aristocratic themselves, but they DO try to actually view political office as public service instead of entitlement for the richest.

10. I think it's cause the Kennedy's were/are truely American "Royalty".
The Bushes will NEVER reach the same pinnacle of style or substance.

12. JFK was working for the people! NOT Wall Street. NOT the....
... military-industrial-complex. NOT 'Big Oil'. ...

I'm the first to admit that the Kennedys aren't perfect. Who is? However, in religous terms, the Kennedys are the light, the Bushs... (after struggling with hyper-expletives) the bottom of the deepest crap-hole ever built!

3. Nancy Reagan refused to cancel her dinner party the week-end of JFK's
funeral, according to Kitty Kelly's biography. Guests like John Wayne and Gary Cooper attended, which to me is more shocking than Nancy continued her life as though nothing serious had happened.

5. Um,...Gary Cooper died in 1961...
of lung cancer. Maybe you were thinking of Cary Grant, but he seems too nice to have hung around with Duke Wayne and Ronny Raygun.

8. Cary Grant was a big Bobby Kennedy fan in '68
I doubt he would have partied over that weekend of mourning.

11. Cary Grant
I refered to Cary because my Dad for whatever reason always confused Gary Cooper with Cary Grant. Gary and Cary I can understand, but the two of them were so different in style that it was always hard for me to figure out why he couldn't keep them straight. It's sort of an inside joke in my family.

7. If Gary Cooper attended it must have been his ghost since he died
in 1961.

4. Is your discussion point the Republicans or the Kennedys?
It's unclear from your post.

9. That's because the REPUBLICANS are the ones that killed the
dead Kennedys. They're just trying to allow that Ted Kennedy killed himself, politically, when Ms. Kopeckney (sp?) drowned.

Same shit from the republicas, different perspective from you, though. I think yours will be a good come back on one of those discussions, too.

13. JFK's death was not a Democratic or Republican event! Afterall...
Edited on Tue Aug-29-06 01:50 AM by bananarepublican
... LBJ was one of the players in this world-tragedy. There were many 'in the know', both before, and after.

The powers behind the demise of JFK, Malcom X, MLK, RFK, and others, are still in control. Each and every one of them are traitorous-scum. With these people in mind, I actually hope that HELL exists 'with extreme prejudice'.
