DEM Message: LESS Safe, LESS Free and LESS Prosperous!!!
I offer that the Democrats should try very hard to craft a simple, coherent and readily understandable message in the upcoming election season. Feel free to offer your suggestion to all Democrat candidates and staffers reading DU.

Vote your hopes, not your fears. VOTE DEMOCRATIC.

VOTE DEMOCRATIC. The Country you save will be your own.

4. I Think You've Got It,....
----- "Less Safe, Less Free and Less Prosperous" sounds pretty danged good to me, Vinnie. I've been wanting to see the term "hindsight" used more, as democrats take on the task of taking the House away from the GOP,... and hindsight is supposedly 20-20, eh? But your phrasing cannot be improved upon.

6. Let's Keep Things In Proper Order,...
----- The simple, 6-word message from the original poster is quite appropriate for an "out-of-power" challenger,.. particularly when all indicators tell us this is a time of huge voter dissatisfation and disillusionment. This is not to say, however, that the democrats should try to slide by without useful and productive ideas to (in effect) get us out of the hold dug by the neocons.

-----One of these might well be a call to shut down corporate offshoring of their tax liabilities. Putting a stiff penalty on job outsourcers would likewise be a "positive" move. And if the mood holds, I'd like to see the accountability theme carried to the neocons, themselves. That would be positive, for sure.

----- Here's one. Launch a push for Social Security reform based upon the truly ingenious "pre-funding" concept,.. and reinforce it with a graduated step-by-step move to that "lockbox" that Al Gore referred to so often.

----- Alternative fuels. Need I say more?

-----Throw out electronic voting. And get corporations completely out of political campaign financing.

8. LOL!
Yeah, I guess all those sunshine and positive, touchy-feely GOP ads really worked for them. Oh wait, I forgot, they never produced any.

Seriously, how many campaigns will it take for you to realize that the GOP has used primarily negative soundbites to crucify Dem candidates?

In addition, I find it amusing that you apparently have taken my single, simple example of a single message and painted me as solely advocating that Dems use ONLY negative messages. LOL! WOW! In truth, I believe that the Dems should delve into both the positive and the negative and simply use the messages that are working best.

In conclusion, I would be eager to read your ideas. It seems quite obvious by your post that you must have it all figured out and I am sure all readers would be enthralled with your tossing us all a few meager scraps of your brilliance. It would also be quite thrilling to have you expound on your stated belief that the Dems have lost the last few elections because they engaged in negative campaigning.
