These were the top stories for Sept 2001 (pre-WTC attack)
I found this by accident, but it's telling when you look at what was about to happen, and understand WHY the US people FREAKED out.. I dare you to find ONE glimmer of trouble bewing..

There is one mention of tha dastardly Iraq trying to shoot down a US plane.. Looks like even before the attacks, they were starting their "planted stories" to gin up support of an Iraq war.

1. Stolen election was totally shoved off the radar.
What's-his-face switched from Republican, thowing the Senate back to Democrats sometime around then, too, if I recall correctly.

2. When you see it all spelled out so carefully, it's mindboggling
Every "news" item there involves singular people and events..of little consequence to anyone but the participants and their immediate family, yet those "stories" were/are elevated to national significance and the PUBLIC airwaves are being used as a backyard fence..we are all just nosy neighbors, listening to the daily gossip..

Stuff we really NEED to know about, is being kept from us, and has been for DECADES..

4. you have highlighted something I've believed for years
Edited on Fri Jan-20-06 11:59 PM by McKenzie
The growth of net-based news, blogs and so on REALLY shows what is wrong...the sheeple are kept docile and REAL debate isn't allowed to develop. This is possibly the main reason that people don't get involved in their society; they sit watching the teevee but they learn very little about reality, if anything. If everyone turned off their lying teevees and started to look at the real world that might change. But you already know that.

Good post - I've copied the list of "news" (rotflmao) items to mail to some people I know. And seriously, your list shows just how scary it really is.

edit: grammar
