How far does racial profiling go? If you are a Muslim or Arab living in post-9/11 America, it could go as deep as your paycheck. A new report from a University of Illinois economics professor found that earnings for Arab and Muslim men have dropped by 10 percent since September 11, 2001. The data was collected between 1997 and 2005. The primary reason cited in the study suggests that men from Islamic countries were offered fewer opportunities and had to find work in industries that paid less.
