6. I have it saved
It's the best cover photo I've ever seen on a Playboy, but there were no pictures of her inside the magazine.

I didn't know that it was possible for her to get any more beautiful, but her donation to Ford increases her beauty A LOT.

:wow: :wow: :wow:

16. I know and if I lived in Tennessee I'd vote for him too
I just have a feeling that if we succeed in getting rid of Lieberman and getting Harold Ford in the senate, Ford will become the new object of anger here with DUers.

But Democratic Majority is what I'm all about this year!

18. I don't know about that.
I've been listening to Ford and it seems that the more he's talking to Tennesseans across the state, the less of a corporate ass-kisser he's becoming.

He, of course, couldn't run very left and win in this state, but I don't think he'll be another Lieberman on the war. Wes Clark has his ear on matters of national security. :)

21. And I doubt that Ford will ever face a credible Lamont-style challenge
Due to the right-ward bent of Tennessee.

20. Yeah, but he's running for Senator in Tennessee
which is a much more conservative state than Connecticut. I'm no fan of Ford ideologically-speaking, but he's better than any Republican, especially the Cat Killer.

13. What kind of Democrat is Ford, anyway?
I've been seeing some stuff critical of Congressman Ford....

He voted to ban late term abortions
He voted for the "flag burning" amednment
He voted for the "gay marriage ban" amendment
He voted for anti-consumer bankruptcy law

Here's a (more or less) nonpartisan look at his record:

http://www.ontheissues.org/House/Harold_Ford.htm

Since I'm not a Tennessee resident, my opinion has no great weight. But can somebody explain to me why he's the best person that the state can send to the Senate? Or is he just the lesser of all the evils? I'm not trying to start a flame war; I'm just curious.

17. We really don't have a formidable Dem party here.
Sure, our Governor is a Dem and he's popular, but, really, outside of him, we don't have anyone besides Ford that can put up a challenge to nearly any of the states' Republicans.

While I fully understand how he voted on the issues you highlighted, if you'll look at other issues there, he's still for a woman's right to choose and still for public education and still much better than the weirdo fundie Republicans we have/had as senators for so long. But, we have a compliant Republican media with no AAR outside of maybe Nasvhille and Memphis and no alternative voice if you're not in one of the four largest cities.

Baby steps, is how I like to look at it. We're taking baby steps. If Ford can win, then the next Dem challenger (to Sen. Lamar Alexander) will be more liberal and so on.
