"Sixty books so far this year." There, you've read it. Probably faster than Bush, too.

11. Those, and Mad Magazine
Those and Mad Magazine were my entire bootstrap education in high school in the late 50's.

They helped raise me above the hoi polloi.

3 Musketeers
Jane Eyre
Uncle Tom's Cabin
Alfred E. Neuman when he was still Mel Haney....

Ah, lads and lassies, they don't write education materials like that any more.

12. OMG! There's just something metaphorically wrong with this cover:

Something about big wood, but it escapes me right now.

14. Well, there WAS that rumor about Chuck Connors!
And I am not referencing his baseball career, either! I doubt it's true, but that comic book cover doesn't help any denials!

5. "My Pet Goat"
and the 59 sequels. :eyes:

I'm retired and I have a lot of free time and there's no way I could read 60 books and do all of the things that I need to do. If Bush is reading that much, he's not doing his job.

My guess is that he really isn't reading that much and is still not doing his job.

13. Yeah if Bush read 60 Books - Then all his bicycling and
exercising, plus going to bed early, then he doesn't have time to do his job. Wonder how many PDB's and other important papers go unread. Clinton used to take stacks of briefing books back to the residence with him and he'd be up till 1AM doing his freakin' job.

6. Hey, if Goober can read 30 a month....

#249 A Girl for Goober 03-25-68
A misunderstanding occurs when Goober applies to a computer dating service. Filling in queries about the number of books he reads monthly, Goober answers thirty. This is true, if comic books count. As far as painting is concerned, he enjoys it. He once painted a barn.

20. You know, I read a ton...
because I have a job where I can use headphones, so I choose to listen to recorded books. I work between 20 and 30 hours a week, and "read" most of that time. I MAYBE have barely read 50 to 60 books this year. I have a tough time believe that he, as POTUS, has as much time to read as I do.

21. I bet they are 'adapted classics'
And I want to see the book reports before I believe this.

War and Peace,
A book report by 'W'

Liked the war part, hated the peace part. I think this was written by people who became Commies. We should bomb the country that this writer came from. The book was too long and had too many pages and no pictures. I hated it. Peace is over-rated anyway. Who ever heard of 'The Peace President'? There are no 'Peace President' Memorials in Washington. So there.

A History of Salt,
A book report by 'W'

It used to be really hard to get salt. Really, really hard. It was harder to get salt than it was to clear brush from a ranch. Now, thanks to Freedom Being on the March, we can get salt at the supermarket. We should invade any country that doesn't share it's salt with others, preferably in an exclusive deal with Halliburton. Then everyone can have salt, at 3 times the price it's at now.

How to Win Friends and Influence People
A book report by 'W'

Ahm, nowhere in this book, not even once, did they mention invading a country that hadn't done anything to you. Not even once. How can you make friends and influence people without an invastion? This was a stupid book and I didn't get it. Everyone knows that if you invade a country, they throw chocolates and flowers and goats or something at you. Stupid, stupid book.

23. 240 days this year plus or minus
60 books?! That means he averages a book every 4 days right?

And he's supposedly reading heavy duty shit, nothing frothy (or at least his publicly printed list demonstrates he is into some heavy duty shit.)

This just seems inconceivable unless the guy has a shitload of time at night or elsewhere to just sit and read. Look, the guy publicly only works from 8 - 6 or so, and they have made a bit stink outta the fact that he is in bed at 10 pm so where the fuck does he get time to read?? I mean, he has fundraisers, state dinners, family dinners, tv watching, or whatevah that occupies his after hours time and ostensibly he's just reading??

It stinks.

Who the hell can read through a 420 page biography on Lincoln in 4 days of casual reading after work hours? And feel as though they REALLY read it??!

Uhm no way.
