Response to Pat Sweeney Robbins/Associated Republicans of Texas
Edited on Sat Aug-26-06 10:00 AM by AndyA
Regarding your comments about Cindy Sheehan and her group protesting at your recent fundraiser in Austin, somehow, you Republicans think you have more rights than the rest of us. Republicans believe they have the right to manipulate elections to award their candidate the seat, just because their friends own the company that made the voting machines.

Republicans believe their President has the right to violate his oath of office, the Constitution of the United States of America, the Bill of Rights, the FISA Court, the laws of the land, use signing statements to undermine the intent of new laws, lie to America to start a war against a sovereign nation that was not a threat to America, discriminate against gay people to prevent them from having the same rights as everyone else, tell women what they can and cannot do with their own bodies, even forcing them to have a baby in some states, even if they were raped by their very own father! And the rights of those unborn children certainly do not carry over to their childhood, adolescence, or adult life. Republicans have no issue with removing funding for education, or ensuring that health care and prescription drugs are available to them later in life. And there's no delay in sending them off to fight in a foreign country without proper body armour to protect themselves, without good military leadership and training, and without a plan for success.

Republicans believe their Congress members can accept bribes from lobbyists, award no-bid contracts to their friends, place cronies in positions of power they are not qualified for, bankrupt the Treasury, sell critical American ports to foreign governments, compromising our security, and outsource all of the good American jobs overseas so their business friends can save money, and be able to afford that third vacation home or second boat.

Republicans believe it is OK to have a super secret group of people meet behind closed doors to write a new Energy Policy which will impact every single American. The fact that oil company CEOs were the only ones participating in this super secret group is OK. And the fact that gas prices have soared to new record highs repeatedly since the Energy Policy took place is supposed to be acceptable as well. And of course those oil companies are now making obscene record profits. Everything has worked out just as planned.

Republicans call Democrats flip floppers, yet the GOP has a long string of flip flops and lies to its credit. President Bush was going to restore integrity to The White House. After the outing of Valerie Plame, a CIA Agent working undercover against the war on terror, the indictments of Scooter Libby, the Vice President's Chief of Staff, Tom DeLay, and several other high profile Republican Congress members, that certainly hasn't happened. Add to that Dick Cheney's shooting of a friend in the face, the miserable response to Hurricane Katrina, and numerous other alleged illegal activities, integrity is nowhere to be found in the Republican Party. Bill Frist is under investigation by the SEC, and the majority of Republicans have ties to a Mr. Abramoff, whose illegal activities may even include involvement in murder.

We now know that our Republican-controlled government totally dropped the ball on the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, when a memo that spelled out the intent to strike America using commercial aircraft was ignored. The President went on vacation in the weeks before the attack, in fact. And Republicans would like for America to believe this was someone else's fault, but the blame lies solely on the irresponsible and inept governing of this country by the GOP. 9/11 happened on YOUR WATCH.

So, forgive me, Pat Sweeney, the Associated Republicans of Texas, and all other Republicans when I say that Cindy Sheehan certainly does have the right to protest at one of your events. She certainly does have the right to make her feelings known to the people who support the administration that is responsible for the death of her son in an unnecessary war.

You hard working, tax paying Republicans seem to forget that there are just as many hard working, tax paying Democrats, who have the exact same rights Republicans do. And America has seen the impact your efforts these past six years have had on our country. It's been like a Roman Holiday, a free for all, where the Republican leaders can gather at the Coliseum and watch the terrorist lions slaughter innocent soldiers for their enjoyment, entertainment, and pleasure.

So, FUCK YOU if you believe your right to gather at a fundraiser to elect more of your Nazi leaders is more important than the rights of all Americans, which were guaranteed to us in the Constitution. Your days in power are coming to a close, you have a horrible record to show for your efforts, and everyone knows that terror and fear are all you have left at your disposal. And even those are wearing thin.

And don't think for one minute that the world hasn't noticed what a dolt our President is. He is rude, has no manners, speaking to other notable world leaders with his mouth full of food, grabbing them by their sleeves and pulling on them, even touching them inappropriately. What an embarrassment this man is, and he alone is responsible for the United States loss of leadership, respect, and admiration around the world.

God help you all if you try to pull another stunt like going to war without cause, or if you create a reason to go to war. We all know what Adolf Hitler did in Nazi Germany, and many see a lot of similarities with today's Republican leadership. America and the rest of the world is on to you now, and you will not be successful in your attempt to undermine what this country's forefather's envisioned for our country.

3. I have been writing them back & pointing out their errors.
But I got a sampling of the responses back yesterday from a guy who had attached his e mail address and some where downright obscene. I suggest we are not well served by writing people back with vulgarisms. Intelligent rebuttals are great, lets make our points without profanity, despite how good it feels to tell them perform these unnatural acts.
