RW talking point? re: Clinton/Murdoch fundraising connection?
I received an email from my father yesterday which contained a link to:

Conservative Media Mogul To Host Fundraiser For Liberal N.Y. Senator
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/05/09/politics/main1600694.shtml

Is this RW bullsh*t? Has the money been returned? What's the deal?

4. One more kick!
The only information that I am really able to find is a David Sirota blog that confirms this story. Nothing about the monies from the fundraiser every being returned.

This is important to me, so any information would be greatly appreciated!

5. I'll Take His Money...
...better than Murdoch's going to Joementum or some Repugnican asshat.

It was Hillary's husband that delivered bigtime for Murdoch in the 90's. Bill pushed through Telcom '96 that made Fox Noise possible as well as expanding Murdoch's holdings and wealth. Since 2000, Rupert's been screwed over...his attempts at expanding his broadcast holdings through more "de-reg" has been held up by Repugnicans...John McCain in specific.

Rupert's hedging his bets. Any smart businessman...especially in these times will do that as there is definite change in the wind. Hillary hopefully will feed some of that money to other candidates (like she has already to Ned Lamont).

Murdoch may be a right wing puppetmaster, but he's also a businessman who didn't get as big and rich by being an ideologue. Hillary also sees money from a local constituent (Murdoch is a New York resident) and it sure doesn't hurt to get a chit or two on this media mogul to try to get some influence at that putrid network.
