We have the largest percapita prison population in the free world. Our "enemies" have less. Much less.

Just check out any of the DU Pedo Frenzies that crop up every so often. If there's a pedophile in the news (as there has been with John Mark Karr lately), there will be a couple of these threads going. Actually, they have been a little less active than I would have thought, probably because of the possibility that Karr could be living in a fantasy world. But the mere mention of Michael Jackson or Woody Allen has been enough to get hundred-post Pedo Frenzies going.

There's also the DU contingent that likes to twist the knife into the poor schmucks who run afoul of bad laws: "The Law is the Law, and he should have known the Consequences beforehand." The classic sang-froid Internet lawyer.

Sometimes it seems like we're a nation of 300 million voyeuristic children crowded under the bedroom window of the neighbor kid next door who's getting a long, merciless, bare-ass lickin' from an enraged, drunk parent using a belt that says "In God We Trust".
