1. That's easy
We can agree that our common beliefs outweigh any of our individual differences, and that political strength lies in unity, not division.

Putting that into practice means everyone must compromise in favor of the greater good. Our political opponents figured that out a while ago.

Peace.

2. As a Centrist Democrat I can tell you that we can agree on
That gays deserve equal rights to everybody else, that abortion should remain safe and legal, that Social Security shouldn't EVER be privatized, that religion and state shouldn't be merged, that the National Debt needs to be gotten under control, that Deficit spending isn't a good idea, that wars of CHOICE aren't a good idea, that we're NOT the world's police, that embryonic stem cell research is a positive step forward and that NOBODY is above the law no matter WHO they are.

That's just a few things that I can think of....what we need to realize as Democrats, is that we have more in common than some people think we do.

11. I totally agree with everything you said and...
it's very good to see you posting again. :hi:

Although I always thought I was rather "Liberal" but after coming to DU I'm there are times when I feel downright "moderate" so I guess I'm a pragmatic Progressive. I know that politics is not a one size fits all type of thing and that there's no way to please everyone on every issue so as with any good relationship occasionally some compromise may be needed. B-)

7. Let's start with the no brainers.
Iraq War has got to stop
George W. Bush and his neocon crowd have got to go
The Constitution is not optional, quaint, or obsolete.
The war on terrorism must be fought with diplomacy as well as guns
The world works best when countries work together to solve global problems
Equal rights for all, no matter gender, sexual alignment, race, color, or religion.
Education is a right
Voting is a right, as is having your vote count
The earth is our only home. We must protect it.
The right to an honest living is universal
Health care must be universally available to everybody, not just the wealthy
It's not the pervue of government to decide what is science

How about those for a start

10. We can all agree that we are ALL Democrats
and if we don't get over our petty grievances, petty bickering and join together now, we may lose our collectives butts in November. I saw one instance tonight over NOLA politics that may me wonder if those two guys are actually on the same side of the political fence. They made me doubt my faith in my fellow Democrats!.

I know most of us are frustrated beyond belief but we have to stick together, right now. This is probably the most crucial election in the history of our nation. United we stand and you all know the rest -

13. We believe in goodwill
We agree that our fellow humankind are worthy of respect,
that the planet is worthy of respect,
that individual rights are worthy of respect,
and that the rule of law is worthy of respect (natural law).

In this regard, a truly civil society criminalizes only real
crime, but as the drugs war has perverted civil society and
the above concepts of respect are outlandish and esoteric,
we can only agree that we are oppressed by idiots, and that
we have amongst ourselves the intensity, courage and greatness
to overcome the demons of ignorance for the greater good.
