7. i remember getting into it w/an english professor when i was
writing dialog. i was told it wasn't proper. i kept saying i was trying to write "natural" dialog and in character--and in the casual/laid back scenes i was working on the word "gonna" was the natural/normal word usage--not the more formal "going to". (sorry--boring story)

6. I saw an error message today at work
"You gotta go to page 5 before completing task XYZ"

I'm impressed that the offshore team took the trouble to add the full "YOU" instead of just using "U"

The language will change despite everyone's best efforts to preserve it.
