I could have went my whole life without learning that Bush...
thinks that it is funny to rip farts in front of his young aides when they first meet him.

Sure, in the back of my mind I knew the guy did stuff like that. He's a clown, that's no secret. He made an ass out of himself at the G-8 this year, chewing his cud while talking to Blair, groping Angela Merkel. He's widely considered to be a rube.

However, the thought of the leader of the free world, blatantly farting and thinking it is funny is so trashy. It offends my sensibilities, and believe me, I do not have a whole lot of those.

Sure, it isn't illegal or anything, nobody is physically injured, but it is telling of just what kind of man Bush is. Why? Because it is offensive and disrespectful, especially when you consider the guy has a fairly important job right now. If I walked in and met someone I was supposed to work with for the first time and they did that, I would feel disrespected and my opinion of them would sink like an anchor.

And, isn't this the guy who was supposed to be the "grown up" finally put in charge?

This latest "revelation" only cements the obvious.

Bush has never been good at anything before. He's spoiled, childish, insecure and incurious. He's never shown any maturity or a capacity for leadership. At best he's a class clown. At best.

What ever made anybody think this guy would be anything other than a disaster as President?

59. Perhaps Bush has mellowed since his days of blowing up frogs?
Let's face it, 'letting one rip' is not as bad as blowing up a harmless, innocent, defenseless, living thing, is it? ...

... Bu! Then there's the so called 'WOT'? 'War on Terror', that is.

3. I agree with you...
When I first heard about this, my first reaction was this is just too much. We know he has no dignity and no class, but this story just about says it all. He has the maturity of a 10-year-old. It is just too absurd, and this is the guy the media LIKED, as opposed to Al Gore, and they still give him a free pass all the time. It's disgusting.

If he's that uninhibited in front of low-level rookies, just imagine the kinds of antics we'll be reading about in a few years. I don't think that people will feel any obligation to be loyal to someone who is so disrespectful to them.

No effing way. I love literature, I read all the time and have way more free time than that guy, so I'm calling BS on that one.

It's like when Bush supposedly read the Dean Acheson bio, yet when asked about it in a debate with McCain he couldn't come up with anything about Acheson, the Marshall plan etc. :)

The idea that GW Bush- who couldn't even be bothered to read the Acheson book that he claimed to be reading for months (he carried that f'ing book around for a couple of months on the campaign trail, IIRC)- has read 60 books this year... it's just laughable. And not just any old books, but books on poetry and philosphy and literature.

So ridiculous. Bush couldn't read 60 comic books in a year.

13. It's worse than that.
He farts in front of aides because he can. He's showing he's the Alpha Dog by doing something incredibly rude that the other person couldn't do in front of him. Because he's the president he can get away with being the farter, but others can only be the fartees. A mere aide wouldn't dare let one go and laugh in front of the president. It's more than being crass and crude; it's a deliberate put-down of the unfortunate fartee.

Which further proves he's an industrial-strength douchebag.

28. I was in a room with * before he was Governor of Texas,
and I knew at that time what sort of person he is. Entitled to special treatment because of his family connections, and deeply insecure at the same time, precisely due to the lack of any personal achievement on his own part. It plays out as that self-effacing, "hail fellow, well met" kind of frat-boy shucking and jiving, which works OK up to about the junior executive level but is absolutely criminal in the job in which he's been installed.
