Osama had a spy in U.S. Army Intelligence before 9-11? Nah, no way.
http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/triplecross/photogallery_osama_bin_laden.html

"Triple Cross"--Bin Laden's Spy in America, Monday, Aug. 8th National Geographic Channel.

National Geographic Channel reveals the extraordinary tale of Osama bin Laden's brilliant intelligence agent, Ali Mohamed, in a new two-hour documentary that examines the masterful maneuverings of a single man who played a key role in al Qaeda terror plots while "triple crossing’' U.S. officials on the road to 9/11.

Mohamed infiltrated the U.S. despite being on the State Department Terrorist Watch List, married an American, and became a U.S. citizen while training al Qaeda terrorists, including bin Laden himself. He then joined the U.S. Army and trained U.S. soldiers about Middle East politics and culture, while training members of the terror cell that bombed the WTC in 1993.

It's a real life epic that plays like a thriller as it takes you through twists and turns from Brooklyn to Khartoum, Afghanistan to Fort Bragg. "Triple Cross: Bin Laden's Spy In America" is the untold story of an ex-Egyptian Special Forces Major who slipped through every crevice of the U.S. intelligence community while working for bin Laden.

He is a worthy adversary who exploited our weaknesses and deserves to be examined. Now, with the benefit of hindsight, the space between the dots is as important as the act of connecting them.

SURELY this is not true, surely we are being played for fools by the liberal media, surely this didn't actually happen, or we'd all know about it, all these five years later, surely.

2. Don't we find it amazing that we are talking so much about Osama?
Yeah, sure it is 5 years and all, but it is awful convenient that Osama is suddenly in the news again. Just in time for another election season.

Since he let Ali roam freely in the USA?

8. "Triple-cross?" If NG is suggesting Osama played Bush like a fool..
Well, it wouldn't have taken too much effort. But really, will we learn now how this master spy evaded American intelligence operations and confused American law enforcement agencies so completely and throughly that Bush simply could not have stopped 9/11? After all, we are constantly being fed the "American intelligence failed" bullshit (think "9/11 Commission") in an effort to absolve the Bushistas of any wrongdoing.

Sorry, this won't fly with me. Bush knew...he let it happen.

Besides, why is National Geographic programming this? I haven't thought much of NG after it fired reporter Peter Arnett in 2003 for saying the U.S. war plan had "failed."

Just fired, Peter Arnett hired by British paper

LONDON, England (CNN) -- Britain's Daily Mirror hired veteran war correspondent Peter Arnett Tuesday, less than 24 hours after he was fired by NBC and National Geographic for saying on Iraqi TV the U.S. war plan has "failed."

The tabloid's banner headline Tuesday said: "Fired by America for telling the truth ... hired by Daily Mirror to carry on telling it."

10. NG asks: "How did public enemy #1 simply vanish"?
in the ad for the upcoming show. it does seem to suggest that bush and u.s. intell. was bamboozled, and i too find that hard to swallow.

14. Bush gave him a Presidential Medal of Freedom and $5M in a secret ceremony
and he's living comfortably under a new identity in Detroit with profits from fast-food joints and gas stations.

13. Read that he also taught army classes from the Palestinian point of view
Can't remember the title of an Osama book I read but there was a section about Ali Muhammed.

The book characterized his U.S military lectures as "unconventional" because he taught that zionism was an evil and that the Palestinians had the right to armed self defense.

Apparently, this left some observing officers a bit puzzled.
