They can't even handle the power that they've got.

2. money is power.
They want nothing publicly owned. Everything has a price. There are no intangibles. Use God and fear, they want a dynasty, they want a society based on class. Remember Eisenhowers words, every bomb made is a theft of public money (or something like that).....

5. Fear.
They think that if they don't have the power, you will have the power. And they're afraid of you.

And when they realize how powerful they are, they have contempt for you because they know that they can do to you exactly what they're afraid you could do to them.

7. Read John Dean's new book and you'll understand.
Great mind. Great read.

Also, snag last weekend's "Ring of Fire" from the Ring of Fire Web site for another viewpoint.

It's the narcissistic, authoritarianism deal.

It's the same reason why the Repukes have absolutely no defense against the upcoming Democratic Party tsunami this November. They have no defense because there's no way that they can admit that they've been doing everything wrong. Stay the course is their only defense. The same old bullshit attacks is all they can do, because that's the only thing they know.

But it's not going to work this time. People are ready to storm the Bastille. Not one Democratic Party Congressional seat is in serious jeopardy for November. The pundits know what this means but they're afraid to say so because what's happening has never before happened. This isn't anti-incumbent fever, like many have portrayed it. It's anti-Repuke fever.

Watch what happens in November. It's going to be beautiful.

11. because they got tiger by the tail
i don't understand all of them but i feel i understand dick cheney, never was a man in public life who so disliked being in the public eye

for him it was about the $$$ not about fame or "power"

so along came the bad decision to acquire dressler and then halliburton discovered they were going to be liable for all these asbestos claims and they were going to go BUSTO, which would mean no more $$$ for dick cheney, former CEO who expected to retire in wealth on all his wonderful stock options

to save halliburton he's got to get into public office, since he hates the public eye, best to get a stoopit puppet he can control while he plays the part of the harmless veep who hides in the hiding hole waiting to be back-up, a war of some sort had to be started to save halliburton and not so incidentally mr. cheney's stock options

then once his millionaire retirement was saved, another problem came to be

he likely thought he would live only a few months or years more w. the bad heart issues but the ticker keeps on ticking and he seems to have a decent life expectancy, so now it isn't just about the $$$, it's about the staying out of jail

they HAVE to maintain power because once they lose it, the crap is going to come out about all the crimes they committed and they're going to end up in jail

so cheney got a tiger by the tail and he can't let go, all he can do is grab more and more and more to sort of keep the momentum going

14. You are right.
They can't let go now because they know they will die and probably not pleasantly. Of course it will happen anyway. Apparently, the cat (tiger) is having a little fun with them before the kill.

13. it is a handmedown from his grandfather prescott bush who believed that
POWER then MONEY were the two most important things in life...and once he got a taste of them through his connection with his father-in-law GEORGE HERBERT WALKER ... well he became enhibriated with them and the enhibriation has gone down the generation of fermented bushes.

15. It's addictive.
Power is its own end and once tasted, the addiction is profound and progressively perverse.

This is what they want, literally and/or figuratively: "If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face -- for ever." (Orwell, 1984, chapter 3).

18. Remember the Communist ideas? Communism works only if the
whole world is communist. These idiots are probably thinking the same thing. Once the whole world is under their control, things will be good.

19. Some people are beyond
normal understanding.

When there's a serial killer on the loose, it's best just to try and catch him and stop him. Explanations can come later, if there are any.
