Poll question: Why We Fight
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, aka mothercorp aka CBC has just broadcast "Why We Fight" the film by Eugene Jarecki. During the commercials I surfed around and found some interesting information.

From IMDB

He may have been the ultimate icon of 1950s conformity and postwar complacency, but Dwight D. Eisenhower was an iconoclast, visionary, and the Cassandra of the New World Order. Upon departing his presidency, Eisenhower issued a stern, cogent warning about the burgeoning "military industrial complex," foretelling with ominous clarity the state of the world in 2004 with its incestuous entanglement of political, corporate, and Defense Department interests.

From Rotten Tomatoes, the numbers are abysmal
NUMBERS
Box Office: $1,146,841
VHS Rentals: $600,000

The IMDB comments contained surprisingly few from the US.

I'm not sure that it could be broadcast in the US.

So, the question; havew you seen this film?

2. I sat in the theater with tears running down my cheeks I was so moved
It is a must-see film for all high school students and for all of us, actually.

Eisenhower was truly a visionary and one of the last presidents to really give a hoot about the country and its direction.

Seeing the film also shows you the depths to which the Republican Party has fallen.

5. No

It is a deeply disturbing statement on the state of the US with especial emphasis on GW Fucktard and his administration.

9. I'll see if Blockbuster has it. The one I was thinking about could be pic
picked up from the library. I thought that was maybe the reason it had such low box office.

14. DivX player can play just about every kind of movie file
and if it can't play one, then VLC likely can.

I used Bit Comet to download it. After it was fully downloaded, I went to the Bit Comet file, highlighted "Why We Fight" then clicked the "start" button at the top of the Bit Comet page.

It opened, and played without a problem.

13. I am watching it now, it is a MUST WATCH, imo!
It is covering PNAC, the military industrial complex, etc. It is beyond excellent, won an award at the Sundance Festival in the documentary category.

19. Just finished watching this outstanding film
And the sad thing is that there are maybe a handful of people in Congress, tops, that really want to do a damn thing about it. They'll nibble around the edges and criticize particular decisions, but nearly all buy into the military-industrial complex.
