Anyone know any more about the changes to Air America's schedule?
I read over on daily kos that Sam Seder is moving to the 9-Noon spot. Is Jerry out? They never seem to have anything about this on their website.

1. I think it depends on the station. AAR syndicates its shows
So they are on at different times on different stations and mixed in with local programming.

2. Gawd, I hope they're canning Springer
Not that he's a bad guy, he's just not up to par for AAR.

Sam should get Franken's slot IMO.

3. Agreed..........
Al should move to 9-noon. That way, I can still listen to Stephanie Miller from 9-12; Sam @ noon; and Randi @ 3p. That would be awesome. Don't get me wrong, I love Al Franken, but he doesn't take calls, and for me, that makes a show entertaining.

4. Though it's not yet finished, here's what's most likely going to happen:
• Mark Riley will be reduced to one hour: 5 AM–6 AM ET, and won't air on WWRL
• The Young Turks will probably become the new morning drive show from 6 AM–9 AM ET, won't air on WWRL.
• Sam Seder moves to 9 AM–noon ET (the name is still under proposal)
• Franken stays where he is
• Randi gets reduced to 3 hours, 3 PM–6 PM ET
• Rachel Maddow moves to 6 PM–8 PM ET
• Politically Direct moves to weekdays 8 PM–9 PM ET
• EcoTalk moves to weekdays 9 PM–10 PM ET
• Malloy stays where he is (though WWRL won't carry the last hour)

6. Thanks, CaseyBuck! I've been wondering.
That sounds like an upward move for Sam Seder--about which I am very happy! He's one of the most informative commentators in all of radio--indeed, in all of the news media. I hope it remains "The Majority Report." We can't emphasize too much how the war profiteering corporate news monopolies have made the majority of Americans FEEL LIKE a minority.

Sorry to see Randi cut back, even a little bit. She is the OTHER most informative commentator in all of the news media.

Jerry Springer is often off-point, and not well informed. He certainly belongs on the radio--but not on political radio. Not these days. I find social issues tedious these days, with our democracy teetering on the brink of an all-out fascist coup.

I wouldn't be sorry to see Franken go. I rarely turn him on voluntarily. He is something of a wind bag. He is not funny. And I really don't need reminders of how lame, collusive and corrupt our Democratic Party leadership has been--on non-transparent vote counting and stolen elections, on the war, on Bush, on 9/11 and a bunch of other vital issues. Franken just spouts the latest party line. I think I do understand what he's trying to do--but I don't agree with it. I think we have revolutionary conditions in this country--brought about by the Bush junta--and to just keep on dishing out this "centrist" crap is a disservice to the American people. We need commentators that are better focused and that provide strong LEFTIST analysis and solutions.

Mike Malloy can stay! What a fighter! Good for the soul! He speaks the conscience of the country.

7. That's not the AAR schedule..
That's a syndicated AAR/Other programming schedule. The Young Turks aren't even employed by AAR.
