Conservatives Dominate Radio Dial In Politically Purple Colorado
It's surprising, because the state's populace is politically diverse.

1. Rome wasn't built in a day, I suppose.
When I first became aware of Amy Goodman and Democracy Now! she was available on only 170 stations. Now she can be heard on over 500 radio and TV stations.

It ain't gonna be easy and it ain't gonna be quick but it's gonna be sure, if we keep banging on the cable and never, ever, ever give up.

Hate speech, disguised as political analysis and commentary has a definite shelf life and this crappola is long since dead and rotten.
They cannot survive against truth forever.

2. i was surprised
not only by the high number of conservative broadcasts, but by the lack of actual news. in NYC, we're spoiled, with two all-news stations and an all-business station, along with the politically charged talk on the left and right.

5. Pity poor me!
Stuck in south central Illinois, a hundred miles out of St. Louis, all there is available Lush Lumpbowel on KMOX and a station out of MT. Vernon. There's a sometimes NPR mostly music station and the rest is music and a lot of come-lately religious drivel.

Even AAR on the net is tough because a lot of the time my dialup can't cut enough bandwidth to stream.

DU, c-spin and Olberman keep me connected and motivated. We all have our own snakes to kill.

3. Talk Radio is predominately RW in most of the country, from
what I understand. They bought up the stations, apparently.

4. understood
but in other markets, you have a broader diversity of choices.

In NYC, for example, there are two news stations, two conservative stations, NPR, air america, and a business station. there are also christian stations, local talk stations for NJ and Long Island, and local talk -- leaning right -- for those markets.

maybe I was wrong to assume Denver was a major market, and therefore would have a similar diversity?
