Connection between child porn and legalizing marijuana?? - - -
My local TV station here did a story today on pot busts at two more homes in suburban Sacramento where DEA agents found marijuana that was being grown.

They had a talk-back guest on the news talking about how it would just make sense to legalize pot and tax it like tobacco.

Here's where it gets good!!!! - - - - - -

A viewer e-mailed in and said, "Why not legalize and tax child pornography too? In my book, one group usually identifies with the other."

ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME?!?! People who grow marijuana are some how connected to child pornographers?!!?!!??!

You know, sounds exactly like another right wing fundamentalist christian republican. They ALWAYS have sex, porn and bestiality (gay marriage debate) on their minds!!!

It's pathetic just how out of touch the wing nut freeptards are when it comes to modern day society! :puke:

-----------------------------------

Two houses in Elk Grove that had been converted to indoor pot farms were raided by federal agents Wednesday morning.

Investigators believe the pot farms, located on Maybeck Way and Misty River Way, are connected to a large marijuana operation that included five houses in Elk Grove and Sacramento that Elk Grove and Sacramento police raided Aug. 3.

Four San Francisco residents were arrested in that raid and more than 1,800 plants were found.

2. Yes well, I've also heard
Something even more absurd, and that's if one decriminalizes drugs and gay marriage is made legal, then it's only a matter of time before pedophilia becomes legal.

Some of these people are so scary it's amazing....it must suck to live such a paranoid life and be in almost constant fear.

5. Point well taken, but I'm not even trying to make this into a gay
marriage issue, as maybe you know.

I'm trying to point out how friggen insane these fundies are to mention the legalization of marijuana and child porn in the same breath. :eyes:

I don't smoke pot, but I'm still all bent out of shape by the comment!!

8. We know that these fundies aren't exactly normal people
There's almost nothing that they're not afraid of, it's pretty sad.

Their obsession with sex, gays, porn, drugs is incredibly disturbing....the thing is, it's nobody's damn business what anyone else does.

7. These people seem to think about sex and drugs a helluva lot more than I
And I'm one of those godless, immoral, pantheistic, unwed, freely-dating pro-choice libruhl chicks. Oh, and I'm also for legalizing pot smoking even though I don't smoke it or do any other drug other than an occasional Guinness overindulgence, and I actually believe in educating our children rather than hiding them in a cardboard box until they're 30 and unable to deal with the scary big world on their own.

16. It's the whole GOP strategy of scaring people . . . If you allow pot
smoking, you're going to have a lot more child predators running around your neighborhood puting your kids in danger.....

If you don't elect republicans, terra. terra, terra.

If the democrats take over congress, not only will they not protect you, they're going to raise your taxes, etc., etc. :banghead:

It's just insane.

11. Ok, let me speak from some experience
I was born in 1943, so during the 60s, almost everybody I knew smoked pot at least occasionally. Many of them still do. Not ONE of them was ever involved in child pornography. The worst that any of them ever did to innocent children was giving their kids names like Misty Dawn, Sunshine, and various forms of Dylan. So whatever convoluted, repressed, developmentally stunted brain fart led the fundies to speculate that there is a connection between smoking pot and child pornography exists in the so-called minds of those delusional souls who delight in trying to concoct absurd theories from nothing but the nightmares of their fevered, twisted souls.

15. That's just idiotic. But it's the standard fall-back argument taken
Edited on Thu Aug-24-06 01:36 AM by impeachdubya
by authoritarian types when confronted with the fact that they support Government telling consenting adults what choices they can and can't make, when those choices don't harm anyone else:

Namely, bring up children, non-consent, or other completely unrelated crap, because they know on its face the basic argument is indefensible. They can't justify telling other consenting adults what choices they can or can't make with their own damn bodies- it's fundamentally UnAmerican. And anyone who has the slightest grasp of the facts knows there is NO LEGITIMATE REASON AT ALL for us to continue to criminalize marijuana (and spend $40 Billion a year trying to keep people from smoking it).

Beyond that, I think it's pretty damn obvious to anyone who reads the papers that you're far more likely to find a pedophile these days at a religious far right wingnut organization--- or behind a Priest's collar--- than you are to find one at a Head shop.

21. I think this person is projecting.
They have thoughts of pedophiling and have a problem of staying away from certain picture sites. That scares them. They want to eliminate what scares them, remove the temptation, to make room for something else that scares them.
Reality gets further and further away as one goes to the Right.

23. Burn Some Weed And Fuck A Baby
Lots of guys doing that every night, and when they can't stone fuck a baby they settle for internet baby porn sites, where they pleasure themselves while watching other stoned cowboys fuck babys.

Yeah, right .....

Oh, and most of them live in California and grow their own weed instead of working, while they fuck babys of course.

25. There probably are connections- in Amsterdam, not here
A lot of kiddie porn comes from Amsterdam, which is also known for legalized prostitution and marijuna. Not that I connect all those things together, but some would.

28. I know nothing about kiddie porn, so I'll take your word that
a lot "comes from Amsterdam."

However, you still have a lot of convincing to get me to believe there's one ounce of correlation between child porn and legalizing marijuana.

That's crazy talk.

29. More absolutist fundamentalist thinking
Edited on Thu Aug-24-06 01:06 PM by EstimatedProphet
It goes something like this:

A is bad
Therefore the people that do A are bad
Therefore the people that do A do bad things

B is bad
Therefore the people that do B are bad
Therefore the people that do B do bad things

Therefore the people that do A and do B are the same

Not valid, nonsensical, not reality based ramblings from morans that don't understand how the world works.

39. I did hear something similar once
I was talking to an old crazy religious schizophrenic guy who said he had smoked pot once, and did it in the company of gay men. He said he felt the compulsion to have sex with them, but fought it off because he 'knew' it was the evil drug. I didn't laugh and i refrained from telling him it wasn't the marijuana but the fact that he was a closeted homosexual.
