I can't believe CNN is re-running all of their 9/11 footage.
Just heard them say that on 9/11 they will be rebroadcasting the whole thing, uncut, starting at 8:00 a.m. Like I want to relive that! Is this just sick, crass commercialism? Is there no other, current news? Are they trying to stir up the terra' thing for the Bushies? Whatever -- what an awful idea. I do NOT want to see that again.

17. Exactly!
Record it! Do it now because otherwise you won't be able to see the footage again. I'd be willing to bet they edit the shit out of their coverage, namely to remove some of the bits and pieces that could cast shadow.

Watch for explosives in the lower floors!

Keep your eye on building number 7!

Maybe they'll find a 757 at the Pentagon this time?

Maybe they'll find anything at all in Shanksville.

22. I know people with recordings of all the news channels
For the entire day/week/month after. I'm sure researchers have poured over them. It would a interesting project to get them all compressed for internet viewing though.

12. I'll prob watch --

I understand why people wouldn't.

Its just that it was the single most traumatic day in my life. I sat in front of CNN for most of the day. Its really just a blur.

I remember trying to make sense of it all. Yeah, I'll be watching it again just trying to make sense of it again.

There won't be any of the footage that I remember seeing live on CNN of the second debris field found eight miles from the official crash scene in Pennsylvania. I remember seeing footage of police putting yellow tape around what looked to be about a square block area of a subdivision. I remember one person who was interviewed live on the scene who said he seen luggage and other stuff from an airplane in his back yard.

From the October 2001 Idaho Observer:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Evidence indicates Flight 93 shot down by U.S. fighter

by Bill Walter

The international press corps reported shortly after the events of Sept. 11, 2001, that President Bush told the American People the terrorist attacks on The World Trade Center twin towers in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. were the direct result of a “colossal intelligence blunder.” The president also stated that “Your government had no advance warning of this attack!”

The Sacramento Bee reported the following: “The Pentagon scrambled fighter jets to track a hijacked jet liner headed toward Washington, but the plane crashed in Pennsylvania, perhaps after a struggle between passengers and the hijackers.”

Other major media sources reported four jet interceptors had been scrambled -- none able to overtake the three jet liners which crashed into their intended targets in New York and Washington D.C.

A Reuters report from September 13 stated that the FBI cannot rule out that hijacked Flight 93 was shot down by a U.S. fighter jet before it crashed in Pennsylvania. Citing indications of a shoot down, the report states:

“Pennsylvania state police officials said on Thursday debris from the plane had been found up to 8 miles away {from the crash site} in a residential community where local media have quoted residents as speaking of a second plane in the area and burning debris falling from the sky.”

Finding debris miles from the crash site indicates that the aircraft was disintegrating well before it hit the ground, as would be the case if the other plane witnesses saw shot it down. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Sept. 12 that the debris found miles from the crash site included “clothing, books, papers and what appeared to be human remains.”

14. There are at least a few 9-11 researchers
that would love to see this footage. A lot of people were too shocked that day to tape the events. I'm glad they are going to run it again, it will definitely be useful to anyone trying to figure out what happened that day and why the buildings collapsed.

16. Actually, I would like to see the first couple of hours.
I was on a business trip to Middletown, NJ teaching a class. My nephew in Connecticut had died the day before from a car accident and I was coordinating getting another instructor to fly in and take over the class so that I could get to my sister's side and help with the funeral preparations.

I didn't see any of it in the AM, then spent a couple of hours getting the people in my class sent back to their respective locations (some were from out of town), talked to the instructor who had intended to fly in from Atlanta, got "the H---" out of Middletown to Connecticut to my sister, had to go around New York via the Tappanzee bridge (couldn't go through NY for obvious reasons), managed to get to Stamford and had to call a neighbor of hers to come and get me in downtown because I was paralyzed with stress.

Spent four days there, arranging and particpating in a funeral, all the while in a town that was suffering from the loss of many of its residents in the tragedy. It was unbelievably traumatic. There was no relief anywhere I turned, our family couldn't get in to help with anything because airlines weren't flying, we couldn't even get a hotel to stay in but had to bunk in with her friends and their families. Afterwards, I drove back to Tennessee with my sister and her husband on their way back to California.

I was just in survival mode during those days, but especially focused on helping my sister who was overcome with her personal grief.

So, even today, I feel scarred but I didn't really know what was happening during that time. It's oddly incomplete. Maybe it's not healthy, but I feel the need to "re-live" it.

19. Wow. Rebroadcasting the chimp's biggest failure huh?
Maybe they'll point out beforehand how these incompetent pinheads had the intelligence on their desk months beforehand telling them that Al-Qaeda was plotting flying airplanes into U.S. landmarks.

Maybe they'll follow it up with the 9-11 commission report, and then point out how this administration failed in every aspect to stop a plot that they saw coming.

Maybe tomorrow monkeys will fly out of my ass and shower me with hundred dollar bills. :eyes:

21. I may watch. I want to learn when I transitioned from a believer to
something else.

I wake up each morning and wonder if I should check out the news as I did that morning. I now consciencely need to know if we are safe. Safe from whom is a separate subject.

I'm considering watching some of the replay because I learn. I was lucky enough to watch all four hours of the Spike Lee documentary on Katrina. I know there is a grand difference in watching a post-retell version from someone I trust vs watching a rerun from a news source that I don't trust at all

I have two main reasons for considering watching. I want to imagine how it's goinng to be when some day in the future we get to sit and watch side-by-side the CNN version vs the truth behind the CNN version and the way CNN 'performed' on behalf of this administration. And ... I want to figure out when it was that I transitioned - from believing it was foreign terrorists to believing something else.

23. Does that mean we are about to attack Iran right beore or after 911?

If that is why they are doing it maybe they are thinking that in case some people will be against it because we haven't finished getting Iraq and Afghanistan under clampdown yet so they want to remind them that all those people died so the war on terror will be hard work and everybody will have to have more resolve.

24. I know this might seem weird, but I plan on watching.
I think it is fascinating to see how the media reacted to major events and then compare their thoughts to what we know now. I love rereading old newspapers (I recently found a bunch of JFK assassination papers in our basement).

On the other hand, I do understand how this could be troubling for some who do not want to relive that day (does anyone?). CNN should make sure they put warnings up because the material is sensitive.
