Countering "Stay the Course"
This is effective and easy to remember. Best of all, most people already know it and believe it to be true.

Whenever you hear someone say that we should stay the course in Iraq, just ask them, "You mean we should keep doing what we're doing and hope for a different result? Isn't that the definition of insanity?"

Just to refresh your memory, the saying goes (IIRC):
Insanity is doing the same thing the same way and expecting a different result.

The scary thing is, that's Bush's strategy.

1. An Example of When "Staying the Course" is Catastrophic.
When to reconsider "Staying the Course":
:bluebox: When the roadway you are traveling on comes to
... :redbox: (a) a sign saying: "Detour; Bridge Out Ahead", or
... :redbox: (b) "it curves" (and you don't?).

3. It's like Nixon's secret plan to win the war
only in this case it's so secret nobody knows what it is.

I guess we'll burn that bridge when we come to it.

7. What do you all think of "adapt and win"?
That's Mehlman's replacement for "stay the course".

I don't see it as any great improvement. We're not really adapting, as far as I can tell. We're still trying to build a nation with bombs.

9. Beautiful
I like what Pelosi said to Letterman on "Stay the Course":

"'Stay the Course' isn't a strategy, it's a slogan."
