Bob Casey to finally run statewide TV ads
WASHINGTON - Bob Casey's campaign will begin airing its first statewide television ad Thursday, a spot intended to introduce the Democratic Senate candidate to voters.

Polls show the race between Casey and Sen. Rick Santorum, the No. 3 Senate Republican, has tightened, although Casey is still ahead.

Santorum has been running ads statewide since June 23, and his campaign has said they will continue them until the Nov. 7 general election.

Casey also plans to run ads statewide until the election, said Larry Smar, his campaign spokesman. The Democrat, who trails Santorum in fundraising, has been running ads just in the Pittsburgh television market since June 28.

1. Sadly, Santorum's media blitz has been effective
Even his desperate WMD in Iraq ploy.

2. smart move by Casey,
Casey doesn't have the same cash as Sanatorium. He also had the lead. Summertime is not generally the time for heavy campaigning. People (other than political junkies like myself) just aren't interested in elections until after Labor Day. Why waste money you don't have. As for Pittsburgh that's supporting the base and making headways into what must have been Sanatorium's stronghold. He was supposedly from that area when he was first elected.

3. I have seen Casey ads ...
up her in Central PA during July ... Not at the pace of the Santorum ads, but ...

As noted, he had about half the cash Santorum had, and had to wait as long as possible to start up ... He still has a good enough war chest to answer from this point on, for the most part ...

He HAS to nail the debates ...
