Four incumbents have been defeated in one month.
I hear this stat on C-SPAN this morning. They were including the Governor and former Senator of Alaska, Murkowski. I guess Joe Lieberman may have been the only "Democrat" of the four? But, this is starting to look like a trend. Incumbents are getting their asses handed to them on a platter. I wonder how many others are experiencing a little anxiety this morning??

my neighborhood had turned up neighbors 100% angry with incumbents in both parties, neighbors who are registered and will vote. Another converstaion I'd overheard among 4 workers at K Mart was along the same lines. People are very angry out there in workaday land, and I think it just may translate into a lot of pink slips being handed out to Congressmen in both house.

Since the media aren't doing their jobs, I doubt those Congressmen are losing much sleep over the prospect, though.

3. Well, based on the pandering from McCain and Hagel...
that we have been hearing lately, I'd say that all the * apologist incumbents are feeling more uncomfortable every day.

6. Yes! I heard that on cspan this AM too!
The reporter intimated that there was a very angry electorate out there! He also mentioned something about a Pub in WY getting a much smaller win % than expected.

We can HOPE this is all a sign of things to come!

12. Just the tip of the iceberg
I bet a lot of these people are going to have to find real jobs pretty soon. And it's going to be a lot worse for Repukes than dems. A lot worse.

13. It's going to be that kind of year
Most Americans, unlike DUers, Freepers or the militant moderates of the DLC, are not ideologues.

What they know is that whatever Bush and Congress are doing, it isn't working. And that's putting it mildly.

So there is a throw the bums out attitude right now. The Republican majority was born by that in 1994 and will die by it in 2006.

Please, don't get too smug about the GOP misfortunes this year. Some day, the Democrats will be failing and the the Republicans will be back. Hopefully by then they'll be sane enough to govern.

14. This is still a shitty record for a country that claims to be democratic
The fact that the game is so stacked in favor of the incumbent that it has to take a fucking war to turn the tide is absolutely disgusting.
