Is the public catching on finally?

Too little too late I realize, but it looks like the public is finally starting to separate the Iraq rhetoric from the overall war on terror.

3. There is no war on terror. Get it out of your mouth... just bcause

Bush says there is a war on terror, doesn't make it so. That is the first thing I would say if I was a politician... there is not war on terror. There are some people who use violence against people to warrant a reaction. So, we are going to ignore them. We are going to pretend they don't affect our lives. We will watch for signs of intent to do harm, but we will not give them reaction. Why acknowledge their violence hurts? Peaceful words and peaceful ways will show the world a better way than hatred and violence.

5. Some in the mass media are starting to turnaround like Tweety and

...Joe Scarborough, hopefully they will continue to bring awareness to their respective audiences. It will not be easy for them to stay the course given the tremendous leverage and power that government and the media corporate executives have over these employees. After all, they are expected to do what they are told or hit the bricks.

7. How do these various opinions make any sense together?

"Bush's handling of the war on terrorism met with the approval of 55 percent of respondents"

It just doesn't make sense. He's occupying Iraq instead of fighting terror, thus spawning ever-increasing new terror plots, and the majority acknowledges that, yet a majority thinks he's doin' a heckuva job on terror?

We need to dig deeper and figure out how this can be. Pull that 55% terror approval away, and we'll have finally separated Bush and the GOP from the sheeple. Is there some psychological factor that lets people maintain this cognitive dissonance? Are the pollsters just flat lying? What gives?
