Randi keeps saying (about the "hearings" today w/Conyers)
that they weren't allowed to be sworn in (the people that spoke to conyers etc.)

well, i could have sworn i heard someone asking them if they swear to tell the truth etc so help them god

and they referred to it as a hearing--not a forum from what i remember.

so i think it was a little more "official" than what we anticipated.
(unless im completely mistaken--which occasionally i am)

7. They WERE sworn in by Conyers.
They may have called it a hearing. I don't remember. They may have done that just to piss off the GOP.

9. I'm almost positive that I heard Congressman Schiff call Conyers ...
"Mr. Chairman"

You may be right. They probably did it to piss off the GOP, LOL!

12. i heard that too. and the last "forum" conyers had on dsm
i think he corrected someone when they refered to him as chairman--or was that the one randi was at? (don't remember--but at a prior forum he corrected them.)

this one i think they refered to as a hearing, not official, they were sworn in, and he was called chairman.

hummm. good!

18. Randi is correct- "The House" does not consider them official hearings...
but Conyers, with his enormous cajones, IS holding hearings whether the House calls them that or not.

Conyers rocks!

Witnesses are being sworn in so that everything said IS officially on the record whether the Republicans like it or not.

19. she's still saying it
and calling it a forum even though conyers called it a hearing.

randi......i understand your point in the basement and all, but these people were sworn in and conyers did call it a hearing, and someone did call him chairman. come on randi.....

(i don't know why this is bugging me. maybe because she's always on top of everything--and it's just getting to me.)
