Coalition of conservative groups believe hotel porn may be prosecutable

Ron Brynaert
Published: Tuesday August 22, 2006

A coalition of conservative groups that "strongly believe" hotel porn is prosecutable have issued an "urgent appeal" to the Department of Justice to "immediately investigate" two leading in-room adult movie distributors, RAW STORY has found.

"Pornographic movies now seem nearly as pervasive in America's hotel rooms as tiny shampoo bottles, and the lodging industry shows little concern as conservative activists rev up a protest campaign aimed at triggering a federal crackdown," David Cary reports for the Associated Press.

"A coalition of 13 conservative groups — including the Family Research Council and Concerned Women for America — took out full-page ads in some editions of USA Today earlier this month urging the Justice Department and FBI to investigate whether some of the pay-per-view movies widely available in hotels violate federal and state obscenity laws," Cary writes.

<<<<<snip>>>>>

The Campaign for Corporate Responsibility includes the following conservative groups: Citizens for Community Values, Concerned Women for America, Family Research Council, American Decency Association, Morality in Media, American Family Association, Exodus International, American Values, AFA of Michigan, CCV of Indiana, Center for Moral Clarity, Center for Reclaiming America, and Coalitions for America.

At its Website, the coalition provides a list of offensive adult videos offered by OnCommand and Lodge Net, including such titles as MILK and COOKIES after School, Hustler’s ALL GIRL Slumber Party, and Bi Bi American Pie.

HOLY BATCRAP!!! Who did the research for these assholes - someone managed to come up with 74 names of Porn movies they found in hotels offering in-house porn on the TV. I'm guessing it was someone's watch list from travelling

3. More people trying to force their views on others
Just because they can't get laid doesn't mean the rest of America has to suffer with them.

If these assholes don't want to watch the Pay Per View movies in the hotel rooms, then they don't have to pay for them. Or better yet they don't have to stay in the hotels, that will leave a room for me when I get there late at night.

These movies are always on pay per view and protected from kids seeing them.

4. YOU can ignore it, but there may be a reason why these types can't...
..."The leader of the campaign against in-room porn is Phil Burress, a self-described former porn addict who heads the Cincinnati-based Citizens for Community Values."

8. I understand why Robespierre and the Jacobins
went for a reign of terror. I'm not saying it was the right thing to do, it wasn't, it was a monstrous crime, I'm just saying I understand why they did it. These folks are relentlessly, hopelessly, sick twisted fucks who are determined to insert themselves into everyone else's lives and spread their misery throughout the land.

9. That'll piss a lot of traveling Republicans off...............
since I believe THEY'RE the ones that use that service the most. They're sexually repressed, it's the only chance they get to watch something like that because their wives certainly wouldn't allow it in their homes. I'd like to see Rush's hotel receipts sometime. Although the title of the movie isn't on the receipt, I bet there are a LOT of charges for "in-room movies" on Rush's receipts. The same with every other repressed, CONservative, Reich-wing, bible thumper.
I thought CONservatives wanted to have LESS government control in our lives?

10. Does that mean the will they go after Marriott Corporation then?
...Marriott Company offers over 70 lodging products and has hundreds of affiliates and franchisees many of whom offer the types of videos cable TV connections mentioned.

11. "Bi Bi American Pie" bwhahhahahhahhaha
those '13 conservative groups' consists of perhaps a total of a 100 people, if that. a very small minority, but a well funded one, hence the use of orwellian names like 'the moral majority' and such. they won't be happy until they've forced their ever so narrow form of 'morality' on everyone else. they themselves are of course exempt.

16. Of course they do - Porn industry is one of the most profitable out there
Actors paid well below what non-porn actors make. Sets that are basically rearrangement of the furniture from the last porn movie make and a sound track that sounds like something a teenager with a keyboard in the 80's would make.

You can make some of these films for around $100k and pull in a hefty profit on sales

Porn is super lucrative and there are some pretty mainstream companies with a finger in that pie. I don't think the Fundies stand much of a chance.
