Another good reason to own an Electric Auto

This video about Jiffy Lube is very interesting. I've often wondered if extra work solicited was completed by them. Make your own judgment.

1. My wife's 1998 Ford Escort was
pretty much destroyed, by Jiffy's incompetence. I will never, ever go there for anything. Always have my oil change at the local mechanic's shop. I think it pays to shop close to home whenever possible.

6. You reminded me that
Some time ago my father-in-law took his car into a GM dealer for an oil change.....As he left he looked back and said to the service manager "Whatever it needs do it"(what he meant was check all fluids, etc.) When he picked the car up in the afternoon his bill was over $400.00.. yep a $400.00 dollar oil change

5. Other scams are people who fix things around the home,
people that fix electronic products, etc. There are so many scammers and incompetents out there.

4. And if you're female get a male to take your car in.
They do a study here practically every year where they send cars with exactly the same problems to different garages. The difference in the quotes made to males and females are quite an eye-opener and that, practically across the board.

9. for every service there is a scam artist in the wings
but the electric car won't have that every few thousand mile oil change to get the car in the door thingy though.

10. Watch Out Ladies
The Hack at our once trusted Nissan dealership told my girlfriend that her battery had corrosion on the terminals and that if she didn't get it taken care of her car might not start again... The bill for this service was $37.00! Fortunately, my girlfriend is quite intuitive. We went to the auto parts store and bought the little wire brush doohickey for $4.99, and I showed her how to clean the terminals. Very simple, car running great and will continue to do so. It's only got about 25,000 miles on it! We used to get all of our service done at this shop, but they fired all of the service managers who were being straight with customers. Now the service managers are forced to "up-sell" to make monthly quota's or face being fired themselves. I know, I was an auto mechanic for Ford. I was hard to wash the slime off of myself every night. One blatant example was when I took my old Nissan pick-up truck in for a tune up estimate. The old service manager quoted me $85.00! I went back two months later and the price had jumped to $450.00! To hell with customer loyalty, the bottom line is all that matters now.

11. While you're cleaning the battery post put a little petroleum jelly
on the matting surfaces and you won't have to clean that post again. speaking from experience. Oh BTW welcome to Du EnviroBat.
