http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=strangest+secret&hl=en

Warning: this site will not last for long...it is in three parts and is in total 1 hour 29 minutes long.

I realize I will possibly get some flack for this, but if it can help just one person, I am gratified.

If you are open to the possibility that you may have clicked on this thread for a reason...watch the video.

I've clicked on a lot of links over the years that piqued my interest only to be sorely disappointed.

26. I realize that, and share your disappointment
Read the posts and see what you think.
I am not trying to convert anyone, just sharing what I found.

In retrospect, I should have given more information, but we were way ahead of this on another forum months ago and I felt it was time for DU General Discussion. I had recently found it posted to a site for viewing and felt that more could benefit.\

Enjoy it while you can, it tends to disappear.

7. I'm digging it so far...
...really like the message.

We make our own realities, and attract those thoughts that we keep in mind most.

This wasn't made by the same Ramtha cult that did "What the bleep do we know?!" though was it?

18. Exactly!

It's good to see The Seth Material gaining some 'mainstream' attention. This analysis of the Nature of Our Personal Reality really does answer all our questions. These films are great even though I'm still trying for #3....

I wonder why they're not more available...???? Surely somebody's not try to make money on the "secret" of life....????

Only in America }(

19. I'm surprised ..
... that there's anyone else here familiar with the Seth material. My first wife (in the early 80s) was big into it. I, at the time, was into the here and now and could not fathom anything like that at all. To be honest, she's gone on to create the reality she was always fascinated with, not a positive reality but one she was apparently comfortable with.

I'm on the fence as to whether or not I "believe" in it. I've been here (alive) for a while and I can look back on my life, the successes and failures, the joy and sorrow, and try to see where I created my reality and where it was thrust upon me.

It's hard to be honest with yourself and really come to grips with the truth of that.

The Seth material is awesome, mind opening. Found it while grazing the stacks at the library in the early 80's. I can't say I'm always successful, but I try!

25. I have many of the Seth Books
By all means, read them....again and again. There is great information within those pages.

This is a movie and for ME, it was powerful, quick, to the point, and a doink.

I just HAD to share the information with anyone who could and would receive it.

33. After watching the movies last nite...

...and thinking about them all day at work, I had hoped the thread would be 'on fire'. So, if I'm being rude for bringing up a dying thread, I apologize. First off, thanks for the link. They're still up so I watched them again tonight, just for the buzz...

But I was also reminded why this view of reality wouldn't be readily accepted by the majority here at DU. Which is why Seth was very particular about taking people along step by step, introducing concepts that followed one another. The books, beginning with The Coming of Seth, if read in order of the way Seth 'dictated' them, provides an easier path to understanding.

Of course the purpose of this membership at DU is not to uncover the secrets of the universe but to exercise pragmatism and get rid of a large impediment to the advancement of mankind. A lofty and crucial goal from any vantage point, but one that requires a certain focus.

Like you, Digit, I think the material is important at any stage of an individuals life and one only needs to spend a couple of hours of reading here to know that a good percentage of the membership could use some good news in their lives. I've lost political friends over the 35 years I've been following these ideas, even though there is lots of room for political activism on the road to self-enlightenment.

I think the hardest thing, for a person whose focus is politics, is to assign responsibility to the individual for their lot in life, rather than on a political institution. On the plus side, Seth tells us there is NO HEAVEN.....

Sorry to ramble on.....

There was a thread about it in one of the other forums. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=292x1714

This isn't the first time I've heard this idea. I think there is definitely something to it.

13. Although I hesitate to say this movie changed my life, I think it did
I had been looking for a job for almost two years.
My mantra was: I can't find a job, nobody wants me.
Guess what....

Nobody wanted me, and I could not find a job....

I watched the movie and had a major doink to my head...DUH!

Yes, I had been repeating this over and over and OVER again.

I stopped saying this after watching this movie.

I have a very logical side to my brain which can build computers and does not believe in the power of thought, yet I still have another side open to possibilities....

Let's just say that as a result of watching this film and being open to the possibilities of the power of thought, that I begin my NEW JOB Sept 6th with fantastic benefits.

This film opened my eyes. I hope it does the same for you.

10. As I feared...
The message is on, but the messenger...

"The Secret is based on the book "Ask and It Is Given" by Esther and Jerry Hicks. Ask and It Is Given is a channeled book, similar to Barbara Marciniak’s "Bringers of the Dawn" in some ways, but Ask and It Is Given is much more down-to-earth and practical. In order to write it, Esther channeled a group of non-physical beings collectively referred to as Abraham. "

14. Cleita, pehaps when I get a few paychecks, I can buy you the movie
After being unemployed for two years, I have some paybacks to contend with, plus I need to donate to DU.
I am more than disappointed to learn that the pay is only 24K/yr and considering that is less than I made part time at Home Depot, it is disconcerting to say the least.

I don't require alot of toys or "stuff" to make me happy. Let me see where things are in a couple of months, if I last that long...God, I hate to say that, but, if I can swing it, let me see what I can do.

16. Taken right from Emmet Fox Speaks....
<snip>
The Hidden Power (the Golden Key)

Strange as it may seem to you, there exists a mystic power that is able to transform your life so thoroughly, so radically, so completely, that when the process is completed your own friends would hardly recognize you, and, in fact, you would scarcely be able to recognize yourself. You would sit down and ask yourself: "Can I really be the man or woman that I vaguely remember, who went about under my name six months or six years ago? Was I really that person? Could that person have possibly been me?" And the truth will be that while in one sense you are indeed the same person, yet in another sense you will be someone utterly different.

This mystic but intensely real force can pick you up today, now, from the midst of failure, ruin, misery, despair – and in the twinkling of an eye, as Paul said, solve your problems, smooth out your difficulties, cut you free from any entanglements, and place you clear, safe, and happy upon the highroad of freedom and opportunity.

It can lift you out of an invalid’s bed, make you sound and well once more, and free to go out into the world to shape your life as you will. It can throw open the prison door and liberate the captive. It has a magical healing balm for the bruised or broken heart.

This mystic Power can teach you all things that you need to know, if only you are receptive and teachable. It can inspire you with new thoughts and ideas, so that your work may be truly original. It can impart new and wonderful kinds of knowledge as soon as you really want such knowledge – glorious knowledge – strange things not taught in schools or written in books. It can do for you that which is probably the most important thing of all in your present stage: it can find your true place in life for you, and put you into it too. It can find the right friends for you, kindred spirits who are interested in the same ideas and want the same things that you do. It can provide you with an ideal home. It can furnish you with the prosperity that means freedom, freedom to be and to do and to go as your soul calls.

24. Can't watch right this second, but...
(I am on my way to bed, but I saved it in my favorites so I can do so tomorrow)
Is this anything like the Manifest Destiny movement of the late 80's?

I've been a fan of another man who seems to believe something similar to what the rest of the posters were talking about.
The man is Wayne Dyer. He believes that "As you think, so shall you be" and that "When the student is ready the teacher will appear".

I totally believe that what you feed your mind is what happens.... now if I can just remember to feed my mind better stuff!!

In the words of John Mellancamp "What you believe about yourself, it all comes true"
