How far will $250 billion go?

Found these facts in my email today... Do you think our politicians know how much money they are spending?

Here is what 1 billion means:
-1 billion seconds ago it was 1959
-1 billion minutes ago Jesus was alive
-1 billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the stone age
-1 billion dollars was spent by the US government in just in the last 8 hours and 20 minutes.

Now the cost to rebuild New Orleans is estimated at $250 billion dollars. This is the amount that Louisiana politicians demand from the federal government to rebuild the city. Now we are going to divide this up:
-If you divide the 250 billion up for the population, each resident would get $505,000.
-OR if you want divide it up among every home in New Orleans, it comes out to be 1.3 Million dollars per home.
-OR each family of four would receive 2 million dollars.

But I guarantee you this fact, most families in New Orleans won't see a penny of that money.

I think this shows just how irresponsible our government is when it comes to spending...

If that isn't enough...consider this...
The current national debt is about $8 trillion dollars...
-8 trillion seconds ago, humans did not exist
-8 trillion days ago, the dinosaurs had yet to walk the earth
-8 trillion years ago, the universe had just formed
-If you travel 8 trillion inches, you will go around the world over 5,000 times at the equator
