What Red America Needs To Know About Terrorists.
Edited on Tue Aug-22-06 05:47 PM by ocelot
Now that it's been declared that we Democrats are the moral equivalent of terrorists, since anyone who doesn't support Bush's foreign policy must be, at best, an al-Qaeda sympathizer (if not an actual member), it might be a good idea at this point to tell the rest of 'Murka a little about us. So here goes:

Democrats and liberals constitute approximately one-half of all American voters. We are electricians, programmers, waitresses, soldiers, lawyers, truckers, teachers, engineers, doctors, students, clergypeople, farmers, athletes, pilots, journalists, firefighters, carpenters, musicians, bankers, nurses, small business owners, CEOs, artists, judges, dock workers, accountants, police officers, salespeople, construction workers and plumbers.

We are your neighbors and your co-workers. We are taxpayers. We are mothers and fathers. You might see us attending religious services with you. Many of us serve or have served in the military; Democrats died serving their country in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Gulf War I. Democrats died on 9/11 and other Democrats have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Nevertheless, we are told that we hate America and welcome the acts of al-Qaeda because... er... that's the part I haven't quite been able to figure out. Since we and our families choose to live and work in America, and since we have no more desire to be killed in a terrorist attack than anyone else, how is it that we can be supporting terrorism? Just like the rest of you, we fly on airplanes and go to shopping malls and live near chemical plants and nuclear facilities; we drive over bridges and work in office buildings. Do you think we are suicidal? Do you think we don't want to be protected against the acts of extremists like Osama bin Laden?

Just how divorced from reality are you when you claim that millions of ordinary Americans are encouraging terrorism just because we support candidates like Ned Lamont and Russ Feingold, for example, over those who insist that invading a country that never threatened us and killing and humiliating its people actually makes us safer? Are you people fucking nuts?

Speaking as a Democrat, a taxpayer, and a contributing member of this society, I want to be safe. I don't want my airplane blown out of the sky; I don't want a dirty bomb to explode in my city; I don't want our bridges and railroads and chemical plants blown up. I also don't want my Constitution to go down in flames. I want my country to be safe and I want my civil liberties to be safe, too. Can any of you brainwashed fools can tell me how that makes me -- and all the other 59,000,000+ voters who didn't vote for Bush -- terrorists?

Are you out of your damn minds?

1. To Those Fearing An Attack On An Oklahoma Dairy Queen...
Edited on Tue Aug-22-06 06:01 PM by Tace
try living a mile from Ground Zero in Manhattan. I watched 9/11 go down from my roof. I know what 3,000 cooked bodies smell like. To those fearing an attack on an Oklahoma Dairy Queen... I think you're a bunch of panty-waists.

On Edit: To make myself clear, I'm anti-war... except for defense, which doesn't include pre-emptive war crimes.

12. It's Amazing How The People Living In The Very Places
that were actually attacked on September the Eleventh ("Apply directly to your forehead"), whether it was New York, Pennsylvania or Washington D.C. voted against the monkey president. I suppose they are all Qaeda sympathizers too, right?

2. Does it make sense: Of course it does, but that doesn't matter to BushCo.
Edited on Tue Aug-22-06 05:55 PM by patrice
Perhaps you are like me, and others, who think one of the **biggest** problems with what Bush has done is this: Because there are now so many people soooooo very eager for War, any War, especially any war against any form of Islam, because there are so many people who will accept ANY excuse for War, those of us who are not insane MUST resist their addiction to Violence at every turn. And te problem with that is: What happens when a genuine threat comes along? How will we be able to differentiate between more cries of "Wolf!" and a real Wolf? Especially when Terrorism acieves another successful attack (on ANY scale) on American soil, the War Addicts will be un-restrainable, so our resistance to them MUST be absolute. This situation puts us at risk for real attacks that we can't recognize for all of the BuSHIT!

5. Nicely said
Little by little, as the rethug machine pushes the boundaries of rational thought, they are losing supporters. I am amazed, though, by the numbers who indeed seem to have lost their minds and buy into the rhetoric.

May sanity be restored to this country before it is too late. :scared:

Ocelot, you completely put the whole liberals=al Qa'ida sympathizers I've ever seen in the proper perspective. Direct, to the point, and completely rational. It really makes the repukes look like they're loony-toons.

Edited for clarity
