where he claims the mexican govt. views the southwest u.s. as mexican territory and that the immigrants are part of an orchestrated attempt to take them back by driving out the whites.

pretty outlandish stuff.

2. My prediction

Pat either runs roughshod over Al, who will be too nice a host to interrupt, or Al will make approximately one comment that really nails Buchanan and his xenophobia, and Pat hangs up or stomps out of the studio (depending on how he "appears") in a big, orchestrated huff.

4. I don't know about that...

Buchanan isn't a guy who gets ruffled easy and it'll probably be a civilized debate. Both men will be armed to the teeth with facts to back up their opinions. Buchanan has always been what he is, but he's not going to storm off like a little kid.

6. I've always had a sort of odd respect for Pat

in that he tends to be honest and doesn't try to hide his extremism under 'uniter not a divider' bullshit. he's far-right and is open about it. he's nuts, but he honest.

There have been many times he's been right on target and I don't mind listening to him on occasion, but I never forget how extreme he is in many of his views.
