Dixie Chicks Documentary & AOL Poll to DU
A release is tentatively scheduled for the fall, possibly right before the November elections.

The film revolves around the aftermath of singer Natalie Maines' statement at a 2003 London concert, where she said, "Just so you know, we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."

1. I voted no.
I dont really like the Dixie Chicks. I mean music wise. I love the fact that they stick up for what they believe in no matter who hears it. I just dont see myself going to see a documentary about them.

7. "Goodby Earl" was their first song to catch my attention.
The video was cute, too. The Dixie Chicks are talented, but not everyone likes country music. I like Alison Krauss and Union Station, too. :)

8. Could I ask you why you voted along with the Freepers? I think the
point of "DUing" a poll involving a controversial issue between the left and the right (as is anything involving the Dixie Chicks) is that you vote for our side.

I'll bet you anything Freepers who ARE interested in seeing the documentary voted No, just like you.

I voted yes, so your vote is canceled out. Sorry. ;)

Maybe its just me but I dont much see the point in voting in a poll if you're not going to vote how you feel.

Would you prefer I not voted at all if it wasn't going to be how you prefered? Internet polls are complete bullshit anyway.

6. Voted yes

We will be going to the Omaha concert in November, even though we aren't much on CW music. I do love the single I'm not ready to make nice. Bought the CD the first week it was out!

They are an inspiration to all of us who are liberal in red (or at least purple here in virginia) states.

13. I voted "yes" even though I probably wouldn't go.
I voted "yes" to spite the freepers. I have a friend who is near retirement age and she is a big country fan and knows I am not. When I aked if she was going to buy the Dixie Chicks latest cd she had this venomous reaction like I was asking her to listen to a cd of Hitler speeches, or anything by the Kennedys.

14. I'll Be Honest, I Voted No. Not A Fan Of Their Music At All And I Don't
really have a desire to see their documentary just cause they said something that probably 60% or more of Americans would say if given the chance. Lord knows I would. But I still don't like their music so that kind of give me a real lack of interest in seeing any special on them.

15. It is about more than their music.
"It chronicles death threats, political attacks and radio boycotts against the country trio..."

20. Ok, But I Still Don't Really Have An Interest In Watching It.
I mean, if they were running for a Senate seat or something then ok. But they're just the dixie chicks. I obviously agree with the statements they made, but at the end of the day they are still just musicians who play music I don't care for.

19. The question is a false setup.
The question states that sales are lackluster. This is not a true statement. Tickets have not even gone on sale in those areas because they could not buy advertising from Clear Channel in the south or midwest.

Clear Channel trying to freeze them out. I think the documentary is being used to force them into accepting advertising dollars.
