Best Hurricane Katrina Charities
With the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina coming up soon, I'm working on a new video about the disaster. Does anyone have an links to the best charities that are still working for Hurricane Katrina relief? I want to add some links to end of the video and to my blog.

4. Have you heard of the Carr Avenue Video?
Some guy in Slidell stayed in his house just a stone's throw from Lake Pontchartrain in South Slidell (25 miles northeast of New Orleans) and videotaped damn near the whole storm from the second story of his house. I saw part of it and it is freaking incredible. I have no idea how to get the thing. I heard he was selling copies to help pay to rebuild his house. Channel 4 (WWL) in New Orleans bought it and showed parts of it. Overwhelming stuff.

I was thinking of you last night as I reviewed the DU archives on Katrina.
How are you recovering? If you find out where I can find a copy of that tape, please let me know.

6. Thanks very much for asking
We are 55 highway miles northeast from New Orleans Central Business District. We were far enough north to have missed severe damage, but east enough to have been cuffed about to a degree I will never forget 29 August 2005. We had minor damage to our home (now all fixed up) but we lost a lot of trees on our one acre lot (not quite all cleaned up, a work in progres.)

I'll poke about and see if I can come up with that DVD. Got you on my buddy list.

7. I wasn't there and I won't forget it
so I can imagine the imprint on your life's memory. Good to hear you're 'all fixed up' inside. I learnt from Gilbert in 1988 that it takes seven years for the trees to recover fully.

Cheers bro - I'm saving everything I can re Katrina.
