How Much Information Stops With You?
Its well known that Republican talking points spread round the nation at the speed of christian-organization-led networked phone calls, continuously reinforced by right-wing mouthpieces blasting their message of hate and intolerance from the pulpit.

We becry our lack of similar communications, but then, here we are.

There is little lack of the information needed to bring well meaning sensible Democracy-loving Americans to their feet in opposition to the tyrannical rule that has poisoned our nation. The administration keeps its secrets to be sure but any one of us could tell the story of one or another assault on our freedoms and liberties by Bush and his minions. Many of us know.

So why doesn't everyone know? Why? Because each of us is guilty of holding the information to close to the vest. We aren't out there telling our neighbors and coworkers as much as we know. As along as we are silent they'll get their information and have their opinions shaped by the hate from the Political Right and the Christian Right. Their voices are strong, but every person you and I sit down and talk with lessens their numbers and increases ours.

Please, get out, talk to people. Tell them what you think and why. When they give you arguments without facts counter with a polite pointing out of the simple truth. Folks, we are not the demons. We are in the right here. It is us Democrats who are the stewards of our rights and freedoms.

Please!

THIS IS IMPORTANT! I'm series!

Really, folks, don't just nod along with the choir. Get out of your comfort zone and DO some real communicating! This is a good place to get info, hone your skills and come for support, but the work is out there in the 'hoods, gettin the truth out and showing others they are not alone in contempt of the wanton destruction of the US Democracy.

LTTE, working for DEM candidates, registering voters, holding salons and teach-ins, chat it up with neighbors, get people to understand where they can find resources. It is empowering. Try it.

Democracy is NOT a spectator sport! There is no 'someone' who will come along and set it straight. WE are someone and if we don't act, they win by default.

Share some truth. Today.

3. excellent point
If only we could organize Democrats to leaflet or copy or other means of distribution of info. Such attempts have been mentioned so many times on DU, but Democrats just don't like to be herded. It could be our downfall.
