1. Saw it. Laughed a lot.
I don't know that the fact that I'm a trekkie had anything to do with it.

2. It was a lot better than last year's
I thought the Pam Anderson roast sucked. Betty White, Sulu, and Shatner were great.

5. Same here...

... it got turned into one big "bash George and Andy fest" for being gay.

6. Andy wasn't bashed for being gay
First of all, he's bisexual.

Secondly, the fact that he's disgusting, unfunny, vulgar, and creepy, is why he was being bashed. I can't remember who said it, but one of the stars said something to the effect of, "I'm gay, but Andy...you really need to tone it down." When he sat on Farrah's lap, she reacted a lot like Ms. Merkel did, when Bush gave her that drive-by "massage". You could tell, he was making her flesh crawl, and the only reason she (very reluctantly) gave his face a very brief lick or two in return was that it was the only way to get him the hell off her lap.

Andy Dick is the most loathsome creature this side of a Republican politician, and he's about as funny as the Iraq war.

8. My wife and I watched it, but
we both thought it was horrible.

First, probably less that a quarter of the time was even on Shatner, the rest these nobodies bashed each other. Maybe I'm too old, but I don't know who most of these people even are and they're insulting each other like I care.

Second, the jokes were rote. Sulu is gay, we get it. So does every single comic have to make a Sulu gay joke? Apparently so - it must have been in the contract.

And that other comic (Lisa?) is apparently not good looking. So every comic has to do a Lisa is ugly joke. And Betty White is old, so every comic has to do a Betty is old joke.

It got old to me pretty fast, and I'm a treckie for 35 years.

I understand why they don't attract famous people like the old Dean Martin roasts did.

4. It was tasteless--perhaps a true tribute to Shatner.

7. If I were gay, I'd be angry at that show.
I have never heard, in one venue, more crude jokes about being gay in one single show. I've never heard more jokes about various objects or body parts being inserted into bodily orifaces in one single show.

And who the HELL is this creepy Andy Dick person? He's misnamed. He should be called Andy Tongue. Although the line was censored, when he applied his "talent" to Carrie Fischer's face, somebody commented, "It looks like she's been captured by Jabba the Schmuck."

There was only one - ONE - joke in the entire evening that was funny, because it had a reference outside gruesome jokes about the physicality of gay sex. It referred, in fact, to gay culture. "George Takei is so gay, he actualy thinks Margaret Cho is funny." Outside that, this thing should have nailed shut the coffins of all the participants, in terms of their show business careers. Given what they think is funny, they should spend the rest of their careers selling Preparation H.

9. If you watched "Last Comic Standing"
this past season, there was a comic with Multiple Sclerosis (I think that's what he has).

Anyway, at one point he said he was glad he had a disability to talk about. Otherwise he'd have to tell all these endless jokes about genitalia like his competitors.

To me he won the competition right there.
