1. Boss's son will do what he is told to do.
They will never overtly dismantle the facade of legitmacy.

2. I have thought for quite some time that it made no sense for
the fascists to cheat, steal, and lie their way into a dictatorship, commit egregious crimes, and accumulate vast power just to turn it all over to their arch foes. They have already proved that there is nothing beneath their ignominy and they have the most obedient press since Hitler's and Stalin's days. Dictator Bush may not hold on to power with his own hands, but the fascists will retain power at any cost. This is what I believe...

5. They have to hold on to power. They all face prison otherwise.
Think of an old Cagney movie - thug in hotel room, surrounded by police...
You'll never take me alive, copper! <-- That's Cheney. And his lawyer/boss is James Baker, not Alberto.

3. repukes work tirelessly to remove all limits to presidential power
when a repuke is "president" (or pretending to be)

and they work tirelessly to limit presidential power when a Democrat is President.

4. Will they do everything possible to stay in power? Yes of course.
But the Pubs said Clinton would never leave office too. That's just foolish. It wasn't true then and isn't now either.

6. Not sure: I'd like to believe that we'll have a peaceful changeover
But these people have done so much evil with so much self righteousness that I don't know.

in time for 2008.

8. Not willingly.
Not if he can keep it by hook, crook or force of arms.

It'll be fun watching him get dragged out of the WH. But watching Cheney leave will be far, far more satisfying, as I've no illusions who the alpha dog is there.

(My apologies to dog lovers, btw.)

9. Look at the events in Mexico for what the GOP will attempt to do.

Rove, Cheney and Bush are probably **helping** Calderon and Fox devise the vote stealing strategy that they are using in Mexico.

10. I need to look no further than the 2000 "elections" we had here in America
I've concluded people don't steal elections for honorable reasons.

11. The neocons in power
are tirelessly getting things ready for the eventuality that they will not be the face of the presidency forever. They are collecting every last bit of information using warrentless wiretaps. They have agents digging into the pasts of anyone that just might have the appearance of power and those skeletons will be used to manipulate.
They will never give up this power they have now. Power is (or so we have been told) the most powerful drug in the world and these people wallow in it. They will never give it up.
