If there is such a thing as a "Just" War, how will we know that our leader

(s) will know what is and isn't valid, what is and isn't a "Just" war, when they see it?

That's one form of serious damage BushCo has done.

Those in power, and their followers, act like they WANT war. Believe me, I've been interacting with people at the grassroots on this issue and what I often see can only be characterized as "They LIKE War." What attitude can anyone have in the face of so many people who WANT to and WILL go to War for ANY excuse that presents itself?

This situation drives people like me further to the Left, when we'd PREFER to be more Moderate.

To asuage those who are concerned about Democrats' being weak on National Defense/Security, I would LIKE to be able to say I could support a validly Just war, or at least not work against it, but I CANNOT! MUST NOT! say that because there are too many people who never saw a war, any war, that they didn't like. There are too many people who never saw a war that they DIDN'T think was "Just". I can't trust their judgement.

And now With all of the racist attitude being cultivated against Islam, ANY opportunity will quite likely be judged "Just", since "they hate us" and are "out to kill us". Especially when there is another successful Terrorist attack here, ANYTHING after that will be judged a "Just War".

When everything adds up to Eternal War, what options do I, and those like me, have? We can't afford to be Moderates.

When you're dealing with a significant number of people who are alcoholics when it comes to War, and the President gets in the Media and tells you that there must be more war or the deaths thus far "would not be worth it", there can be NO choices when it comes to support for armed conflict; we have to, we MUST resist this addiction.

All of this is troubling enough in itself, but what is even worse is: The fact that there ARE no choices, in what my attitude toward this can be, is not only unpleasant, it IS dysfunctional when it comes to the valid protection of this country.

2. I hate saying this, but if Republicans continue in power, I will have

to decide whether to work for a no-holds-barred Draft.

I'm pretty depressed today. I know if things were going better in Iraq we'd be on our way to Iran or Syria right now. Hell we're probably there anyway with our tactical nukes.
